Formerly 521. Appears as a drug store on the 1893 and 1898 Sanborn maps, without change. On the 1912 Sanborn map, it is still a drug store, but a 1 story rear wing has been added, flush on the east end, but recessed from the west. Appears the same on the 1931 and 1944 Sanborn maps, continuing to be labeled as a drug store, despite most buildings have only a generic “store” reference. Given that the adjacent building to the east was the long time Centennial Drug Store, the reference here may have been a mistake. Description Foundation not visible; red brick facade wall in running bond, with ceramic tile added to storefront; shed or flat composition roof. 2 stories, rectangular shape, side walls common/not visible; 4 facade bays. Storefront altered in form and materials with squarish storefront sash framing deeply recessed door. Right/east bay with staircase door, modern replacement. Hanging sign brace above 1st story without a sign; still anchored. 2nd story with 3 symmetrical bays with replacement windows, shorter 1/1 double-hung sash with space above bricked flush in different brick Tall raised segmental arches with keystones and brick labels. Keys with “S,” “&,” and “F.” Brick parapet indicates rebuilt/altered, as it is now without any detailing; tile coping. Air conditioning unit mounted into brick on 2nd story, between 1st and 2nd bays. Integrity/Major Physical changes from original construction Appendix F: Historic Urban Building Inventory, April 2000 of the Design Manual, Lockport Street Business Corridor notes the tile storefront alteration was done by Krebs Drug Store around 1960.
