Power the projector on with remote- look for two blue lights under projector. It will take about a minute for the bulb to beam. Note: When turning off projector, press the power button twice. The light will go off but the fan will continue to cool the bulb for a few minutes. Connections: Most of the computers are connected to both the monitor and the projector. The Planar (brand) flat monitor will not connect at the same time as the projector. When using the StarBoard you must connect the black VGA cable to the Y-splitter on the back of the computer. The computer monitor will lose connectivity until disconnected again. We are hoping to find a fix for this problem. Double click on StarBoard Software icon:

The first step in using the StarBoard is to calibrate the board with the projector. This will need to be completed once. To calibrate StarBoard: Click the yellow StarBoard button On the popup menus click Settings > StarBoard> Calibration

Use the pen to touch the center of the Red blinking circle until it turns green. Go to the next red blinking circle, repeat…

Note: If the calibration circles are located on the border of the board that cannot be touched, the projector settings will need to be changed – press ESC to exit the calibration menu. To change projector settings: Press Menu button on remote, navigate to “picture”, and press Enter. Navigate to “size”, select 16:9, and press Enter. Go through the calibration steps. To begin writing on the board: Click new page for a new blank page. Touch the left and right arrows on either side of the board to navigate “pages”. The number of your page is displayed in the upper right corner.

To display your PC: Click the mouse PC button on the ‘floating’ tool bar. Click and drag the tool bar to any location. In PC mode you can display the Internet, PowerPoint, documents, or anything on your PC. If your computer has a DVD-ROM you can play DVDs. Use the program on your PC that operates the DVD player. If you are not sure which program will work, notify Debbie or Carol (or someone who might know).

To adjust the speakers: Volume controls are on the back of the speakers. As you look at the Califone logo on the front middle of the speaker, directly behind the logo are two knobs – the knob on the right adjusts the volume, the knob on the left adjusts the tone. The volume on each speaker will need to be adjusted. The volume control on your PC will slightly adjust the speakers. Use it to fine-tune the volume. Note: Some of the speakers make a humming noise – the installers are working on a resolution. To use the Writing Tablet: The wireless tablet battery must be charged for a minimum of two hours. Plug charger into a surge protector. Remove stylus pen from the back of the tablet. Remove USB adaptor from back of the tablet. Connect the USB adaptor to a USB port on the computer. Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds until the LED is flashing. Press the red connecting button on the back of the tablet and the button on the USB adaptor at the same time for several seconds- up to 30 - 45 seconds. When pairing is successful a number is displayed on the LED indicator on the tablet. Use the pen to write, click, double-click, or drag items. The pen can be used in the same way as a mouse.
