R ______________________________ SO THE HOLY SPIRIT CAN ___________________ ME.
“So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.” - Galatians 5:16-17 “Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.” - Romans 8:5-6 “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” - Galatians 5:22-23 *Join us next week as we continue THE CREED with “Living with God’s People.”

THE APOSTLES’ CREED I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. “And when you believe in Christ, He identifies you as His own by giving you the Holy Spirit whom He promised long ago.” - Ephesians 1:13 “For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God's children.” - Romans 8:16
TO LIVE A SPIRIT-FILLED LIFE, I WILL...

“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don't know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.” - Romans 8:26
(Jesus) “And when [the Holy Spirit] comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God's righteousness, and of the coming judgment.” - John 16:8
“I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.” - Ephesians 3:16 “The Spirit then compelled Jesus to go into the wilderness.” - Mark 1:12
