A. 25896 X - Home for the Holidays Panel 1. Fussy-cut (1) 22½" x 41½" panel. B. 25899 G - Cardinal in Branches - Green (25899 K) - Cardinal in Branches - Charcoal 1. Cut (3) 3⅜" x WOF strips. From these strips, cut (28) 3⅜" squares. Cut each on one diagonal to get 56 B1 triangles. 2. Cut (1) 5⅞" x WOF strip. From this strip, cut (2) 5⅞" squares. Cut each on one diagonal to get 4 B2 triangles.

C. 25898 G - Pine Trees Scenic - Green (25898 K) - Pine Trees Scenic - Dark Gray 1. Cut (5) 3" x WOF strips. Sew strips together into one long strip. From this strip, 1.a. Cut (2) 3" x 42½" C1 strips for the Fourth Border; and, 1.b. Cut (2) 3" x 49½" C2 strips for the Sixth Border. 2. Cut (2) 3" x 57½" LOF C3 strips for the Fourth Border. 3. Cut (2) 3" x 64½" LOF C4 strips for the Sixth Border. D. 24776 K - Harmony Woven - Ash 1. Cut (3) 3⅜" x WOF strips. From these strips, cut (28) 3⅜" squares. Cut each on one diagonal to get 56 D1 triangles. 2. Cut (2) 6¼" x WOF strips. From these strips, cut (7) 6¼" squares. Cut each on both diagonals to get 28 D2 triangles.

 

3. From the leftover 6¼" strips in the previous step, cut (2) 5⅞" squares. Cut each on one diagonal to get 4 D3 triangles.

E. 24600 Z - Illusions Snowflake White 1. Cut (2) 6¼" x WOF strips. From these strips, cut (7) 6¼" squares. Cut each on both diagonals to get 28 E1 triangles. F. 23528 K - Color Blends - Graphite 1. Cut (3) 1½" x WOF strips. Sew strips together into one long strip. From these strips,cut (2) 1½" x 55½" F1 strips for the Third Border. 2. Cut (2) 1½" x 37½" F2 strips for the Third Border. G. 23528 G - Color Blends - Green (23528 R) Color Blends - Red 1. Cut (2) 2" x 41½" G1 strips for the First Border. 2. Cut (2) 2½" x 25½" G2 strips for the First Border. 3. Cut (6) 1½" x WOF strips. Sew strips together into one long strip. From this strip, 3.a. Cut (2) 1½" x 62½" G3 strips for the Fifth Border; and 3.b. Cut (2) 1½" x 44½" G4 strips for the Fifth Border. 4. Cut (7) 2½" x WOF strips to make 270" length for binding.

3. Sew 2 B1 and 1 D2 together to make a BD Flying Geese unit that measures 3" x 5½". Make 28 BD Flying Geese Units.

 

4. Sew a DE and BD Flying Geese unit together to make a BDE unit that measures 5½" square. Make 28 BDE units.

 

Quilt Assembly (Refer to Quilt Layout Diagram) Backing - 25900 RG - Snowflake Tiles Red/Green 1. Cut (2) 60" x WOF. Sew together to make a 60" x 80" backing

First Border

Sewing Directions Half-Square Triangles (HST)

5. Sew a G1 strip onto each long edge of the A panel. 6. Sew a G2 strip onto the top and bottom edge of the A panel to make an A1 quilt center that measures 25½" x 45½".

1. Sew a B2 and D3 triangle together to make a BD HST that measures 5½" square. Make 4 BD HSTs.

Second Border (Pieced) 7. Sew 9 BDE units together to make a BDE9 strip that measures 5½" x 45½". Make 2 BDE9 strips.

Flying Geese 2. Sew 2 D1 and 1 E1 together to make a DE Flying Geese unit that measures 3" x 5½". Make 28 DE Flying Geese Units.

 

8. Sew 2 BD HSTs and 5 BDE units together to make a BDE5 strip that measures 5½" x 35½". Make 2 BDE5 strips.

9. Sew a BDE9 strip onto each long edge of the A1 quilt center. 10. Then, sew a BDE5 strip onto the top and bottom edge of the A1 quilt center to make an A12 quilt center that measures 35½" x 55½".

Third Border 11. Sew an F1 strip onto each long edge of the A12 quilt center. 12. Sew an F2 strip onto the top and bottom edge of the A12 quilt center to make an A123 quilt center that measures 37½" x 57½". Fourth Border 13. Sew a C3 strip onto each long edge of the A123 quilt center. 14. Sew a C1 strip onto the top and bottom edge of the A123 quilt center to make an A1234 quilt center that measures 42½" x 62½". Fifth Border 15. Sew a G3 strip onto each long edge of the A1234 quilt center. 16. Sew a G4 strip onto the top and bottom edge of the A1234 quilt center to make an A12345 quilt center that measures 44½" x 64½". Sixth Border 17. Sew a C4 strip onto each long edge of the A12345 quilt center. 18. Sew a C2 strip onto the top and bottom edge of the A12345 quilt center to make a quilt that measures 49½" x 69½".

 

Finishing: 19. Layer quilt top, batting and backing; baste, quilt as desired. Trim layers even with quilt top. 20. Sew seven 2½" x WOF binding strips together end to end with a 45-degree seams to make binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.
