One week ago, Hometag wasn't Hometag. T h e n a m e w e d e a r l y c a l l e d i t w a s H o m i f y. Fo r o n e y e a r. I n o u r h e a d , H o m i f y w a s a l w a y s t h e t o p o n e f o c u s . We w o r k e d , a t e , worked, ate with the desire of nurturing H o m i f y. Th e n a m e w a s s o i n t i m at e . We loved it as much as the app itself. Our f r i e n d s k n e w a b o u t H o m i f y. S o d i d o u r u s e r s and partners. But the name always carried a risk because one magazine also had the s a m e n a m e . We k n e w s i n c e t h e s t a r t y e t s t i l l we proceeded. Our Homify was a real estate estimation and listing. Their Homify was a magazine about interior design. As a wise old man in Vietnam said, the water from the river did not mind the business of the water f r o m t h e w e l l . We j u s t u s e d t h e n a m e , a n d loved the name. One week ago, the magazine claimed the name back. Fo r m o r e t h a n 3 d a y s w e h a d d r a i n e d o u r brains to come up with a cool name. Some beautiful names were already taken, Some fi t t o t h e i d e a b u t s o u n d e d d r y ; S o m e f u n n y and cool but was meaningless. While we w e r e s i t t i n g a t t h e c o ff e e h o u s e a f t e r l u n c h , someone raised the name "Hometag" just o u t o f t h e n o w h e r e . We h e a r d b u t s l i p p e d i t a s i d e . W e w e r e a b o u t t o fi n a l c a l l a d i ff e r e n t n a m e i n t h e e n d o f t h a t d a y. Next morning, the founder said to the whole team, he liked the name Hometag. Everyone nodded. Hometag was born.
