Homer Athletic Club April Meeting Thursday, April 12, 2012

Meeting called to order by John Kruczek at 8:05p.m. Roll Call Present: Mike Vickery, Mike Schnell, Bob Rowell John Kruczek Brian DiCristofano Steve Bruton and Ken Marcin (late) all present.

Open Forum None

Secretary Report There was a motion by Mike Vickery to accept the March Secretary Report as written. The motion was seconded by Brian DiCristofano Unanimous Aye. Motion Carried. Treasury Report Mike Vickery read the Cash Flow report. In addition, Mike mentioned that the audit is completed and sent to the state. There was a motion by Steve Bruton to accept the March Treasurer Report The motion was seconded by Bob Rowell. Unanimous Aye. Motion Carried.

Committee Reports Baseball: Rec season to begin on April 23. Schedule to be submitted to umpires by April 18. For SWILA we now have 2 colt and 2 Palimino teams. Pictures to be held either outside or at young this year.

Softball: Field scheduling still in process should be completed by weekend. 90 spots reserved for the Northwestern University softball game. Rec schedules are completed need Bronco and Pony schedules to be forward for umpires. Boys Basketball: Received one Manager Evaluation. Girls Basketball: No Report. Volleyball: The season will be completed by the end of April. Part-time Fire Baseball: Scheduling meeting was attended by all teams on Sunday April 1. Ask each Fire manager to return unused field time as soon as possible. Part-time Travel Softball: No report. Full-time Travel Baseball: Pat Greaney recommended better clarification on scheduling preseason practices. The April early bird tournament has the following numbers: 8U 6 teams, 9U 4 teams 12U 7 teams and 13U 8 teams. The Memorial Day Tournament has 10U 6 teams, 11 U maybe, 12U canceled and 14U closed. The 4th of July Tournament 9U nothing, 11U committed and 14U committed. It was mentioned that Lockport and Plainfield have tournaments as well during this time period. Full-time Travel Softball: I 80 league building up softball. 14U teams waiting for high school to finish. Discussion of all teams and tournaments. Field Maintenance: Complex work has been completed. Field 1 has been skinned; all infield grass has been removed. The mound needs to be raised on field 3 and field 2 will be worked on April 14. Porte Johns to be delivered to Butler, Culver and Junior High for baseball and softball. Concession: Equipment moved in and stocking of concession stand has begun.

Equipment: Trophies for volleyball to be ordered this week. Rec uniforms are in directors to be contacted for pick up. Sample set of uniforms in Shed 1.

Sponsorship: Reviewed sponsorship with no buybacks. In addition, sponsors cutting donations.

Marketing: No report

Old Business There was a date change for the Founder Club Softball Tournament

New Business: NONE Ken Marcin made a motion to adjourn. It was seconded by Bob Rowell. The meeting was adjourned by unanimous aye vote at 9:40 PM.
