Before assembling the bed, you must turn the Side Rails (I) to the position you intend to use. If you are using a Mattress-Box Spring combination, see detail (1) below. If you are using a mattress only, see detail (2) below.

STEP 1: Attach the side rails (I) to the Footboard (J) by inserting the bolt heads at the end of the Side rails into the brackets on the Footboard. Push down to lock the bolts in place. DO NOT force the Side rails into the brackets.

STEP 2: Prop the headboard (H) up against a wall. Carefully move the Footboard Assembly (J & I) From Step 1 to the headboard. Align the holes in the Side Rails (I) with the holes in the wings of the Headboard. Attach the two with the bolts (C) .

STEP 3: Attach the bracket (E) onto the bolts of the plate that is attached to the side rail. Screw the bracket into the headboard with 4 of the Wood Screws (A) provided.

MATTRESS ONLY ASSEMBLY STEP 4: If you are using a Mattress-Box Spring combination, skip to STEP 5. Attach the Support Legs (F) and Rubber Washers (B) to the Supports (G) center holes. Screw them into the side WITHOUT the metal hardware showing.

MATTRESS-BOXPRING ASSEMBLY STEP 5: For a Mattress-Box Spring combination, remove the upper part of the Support Leg (F) and place Rubber Washers (B) to the bottom section of the leg (F). Screw the Support Legs (F) into the Support (G) making sure the side WITHOUT the metal hardware showing.

STEP 6: Lay the Supports (G) on the Side Rails (I) Support Rails. Evenly space the Supports and then attach the ends to the rails using 2 Screws (A) per end.
