HOPKINS BOYS BASKETBALL CAMP Time is precious and we know you are faced with a wide variety of options during the summer. That is why the Hopkins Royals Summer Basketball camp is committed to providing the absolute best possible fundamental basketball instruction in the state of Minnesota. At Hopkins, we emphasize the fundamental skills essential for all young basketball players, and offer instruction by a coaching staff made up of professional educators who, combined, have more than 120 years of experience teaching and coaching. Hopkins basketball is the gold standard in the state of Minnesota. The Royals have captured six class AAAA state basketball championships in the past ten years, and have sent over 2 dozen players on to compete at the college level. All of these young men participated in the Hopkins basketball camp as youngsters, and your son will receive the same quality instruction. We love the game, we love helping young people, and we are eager to work with your son this summer! This year’s camp will combine our fundamental coaching and five on five league play every day. We will emphasize fundamental passing, ball handling, and shooting throughout the morning, and then will divide the players into equal teams for five on five games to end each session. Our key goals are to combine athletic skills, technical skills, and thus developing basketball intelligence needed to: *choose the best option in less time; *adapt to ever-changing situations; *possess good spatial awareness; *know the right play at ay moment relative to the time and score; *create player understanding so they can read and react and adjust and adapt on the court. Dates, Times, Cost For players finishing 3rd through 8th grade: Weekdays, June 9th through June 19th, 9:00AM – 12:00 PM. The cost is $150. That is just $5.50 per hour for instruction and supervision from licensed educators and the hardest working high school coaching staff and players in the state. You won’t find a better deal than that at any other camp! For players finishing 1st and 2nd grade: Weekdays June 9th through June 19th, 9:00AM - 10:30AM. The cost for this session is $80. The camp will be held at Hopkins H.S. and the Lindbergh Center. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt!
