Greetings Potential Host Family! I’d like to thank you once again for considering the possibility of opening up your home and your heart to one or more of our wonderful athletes this season. Our number of out-of-town athletes has doubled from last year to approximately 50 and without your help, their dreams of being a part of our organization would not be possible. As a gym owner, I feel so proud and blessed to have members that are not only committed to their own child’s success but to that of all the children in the Top Gun Family! With the idea of bringing a total stranger(s) into your home, it’s only natural to have questions, concerns and apprehensions. As one who has hosted athletes since 1998 (some of whom are now Top Gun coaches), I understand those feelings quite well. So I thought it’d be helpful to share with you a list of information I had all the athletes send me in hopes that it will give you more clarity as to what you’re participation in this project would entail.

Parent/Guardian Info The cost to live with a host family is $300 per month for rent and all utilities such as electric, water, cable TV, Internet, etc. Food is NOT included in this amount and you MAY also need to chip in for expenses such as gas, tolls and wear and tear on the car if you will be relying on others for transportation. Please list the name and contact information of the person(s) who will enter this agreement with you, guarantee that payment in full will be made on time each month, be held responsible for your health, well-being and behavior and be available for regularly scheduled phone conferences as well as nonscheduled communication via phone, text message, and/or email if necessary. I am still in the process of compiling all of this information into a spreadsheet document. My goal is to have everything organized and your athlete(s) selected by the end of next week so that you may conduct any additional screening you feel is necessary before making a final decision. Please let me know if there is any other information you’d like to know or if you have any special requests. If all goes well, I hope to have athletes beginning to move down as of June 1st.
