Remove selvages from all fabrics Iron the 2” strip in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Lay the cuff fabric (bun) horizontally on your work surface, right side up. Align the raw edges of the accent strip (ketchup) with the top raw edge of the cuff fabric. Lay the body fabric (hot dog) on top of the accent strip, right side down, aligning the top edge of the body fabric with the other raw edges. Pin edges together. From the bottom edge of the body fabric (hot dog), roll the body fabric up into a roll, making sure to keep the bottom edge of the cuff fabric free. When the body fabric is rolled, use the bottom edge of the cuff fabric (bun) and cover the roll of body fabric, aligning the bottom cuff edge with the other raw edges. Re-pin all five raw edges together and sew. Pull the body piece out from inside the cuff. Finish the case with a serger or with a French seam. • To do a French seam, place the wrong sides of the pillowcase together and sew the side and bottom edges with less than 1/4” seam allowance. Turn the pillowcase inside out and re-sew the side and bottom edges with a little more than a 1/4” seam allowance.
