APPLICATION PROCESS FOR J. GRAHAM BROWN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOR THE 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR 1.
The application period is October 30th – December 15th. To apply, complete the JCPS online application available at www.jcpsky.net and at registration sites throughout the district. Brown Elementary School does not review “second choice” applications. Do not make Brown Elementary your second choice on the magnet school application.
*If you are new to the district, please visit www.jefferson.kyschools.us/schools/apply/new-students for information about registering your child for school in the district. The registration process must occur prior to completing the JCPS Magnet School online application. (This step is required for students in private / parochial schools, students moving to Jefferson County from other school districts, and students enrolling in Jefferson County for the first time.) 2.
As a requirement for admission to Brown, parents/guardians of applicants must attend either our Prospective Student Open House or a building tour. We encourage prospective students for grades 4-12 to attend the open house and/or building tour with their parent/guardian. Our Prospective Student Open House is scheduled for November 1 st at 6:30 PM at Brown. Building tour dates are available at www.mybrownschool.org/admissions. No applicant will be considered for admission if the parent/guardian has not attended either the open house or a building tour.

Upon completing the online application, students are required to submit the following required application materials to the Elementary Admissions Committee at Brown School. For current JCPS students, there is no need to submit the following materials, as those items will be submitted electronically to the school once your application is processed. In order for these items to be submitted electronically to the school, it is important that you leave the box checked next to the following statement: I give permission for my child’s information (grades, report cards, attendance, standardized test scores, and behavior) to be provided electronically to the programs selected on the application . All materials must be received at Brown by December 15, 2017 in order for the application to be considered. Once all admissions materials are received by the school, the admissions committee will select students for potential admission. Geographic diversity of our student body is a consideration in the admissions process. Applicants will be notified of an admissions decision in March. Updated 10/16/17
