Key Reading: Non- fiction We will be reading a range of information texts on farms. We will look at a range of adverts and the interesting language used.

Science   

To identify and name a range of common garden and wild plants. To label that parts of a plant and understand their purpose. Recognise a push and pull force.

Literacy    

To use a wider range of vocabulary. To use connectives to extend our sentences and make them more exciting. To use time connectives to organise a recount. To re-write a familiar story.

Maths Recognise and name 2D shapes. To describe the position of an item. E.g next to, behind etc. To describe movement including, whole, half and quarter turns.

We will be looking at the 4 countries that make up the United Kingdom, their capital cities and the surrounding seas. To understand we have a queen that rules Britain. To compare current Queen Elizabeth with Queen Victoria.

Trips and visitors

How can you help your child at home? 

 

We will take a trip to Gordale Garden Centre. We will visit Greenacres farm.

PE on Fridays Homework available on the school website on Friday. Reading books to be returned on Tuesday and Thursday Spelling books in to school on Wednesday

Talk about the shapes you can see in the environment. Explain to your child where we live and help them to find it on a map. To regularly read with your child. To practise reading and writing high frequency words.
