Collect all credential application items listed on the Application Checklist. NOTE: The items you submitted for your application for admission to CSUMB cannot be used. You are now applying for a document from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing which requires a separate application. Submit your application to either Credential Analyst at CSUMB for processing. NO APPOINTMENT WITH A CREDENTIAL ANALYST IS NECESSARY. You may bring your application to Building 3 and drop it at the front desk, bring it to our offices in Building 3, or mail it to our attention: Chris Villanueva or Christy Hanselka CSUMB Credential Analyst 100 Campus Center, Bldg. 3 Seaside, CA 93955 Chris: (831) 582-3613, Office 114 Christy: (831) 582-3638, Office 119

Check your email daily and pay for the credential. Once the application is processed, you will receive an email that will either inform you an item is missing from your application, or that your credential has been recommended and you can now pay the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) fee of $102.50 online to receive the credential. (Do not be alarmed if you are charged less than $102.50. If this happens, it means you previously paid a $50 fee for a Certificate of Clearance. The COC fee remains a credit on your CTC “Educator Page” until you apply for your first credential. At that time, it is then deducted automatically from the first credential fee. If you have this credit, the CTC will automatically deduct it from the $102.50.) Once you pay the CTC fee online, you will receive an email receipt that day. You can show this receipt to your employer to prove that you have applied and paid for the credential. Within 10-15 days of your online payment to CTC, your credential should then post to your “Educator Page” on the CTC website, and will remain there forever for you to print anytime. The CTC is paperless so you will not receive a paper credential. Always be sure to print the credential screen that contains all authorization codes, and not the “pretty copy” which is only for your wall and does not contain the codes that employers need to see. To go to your Educator Page to view or print any of your CTC issued credentials: Go to ctc.ca.gov, click on the “Educator Login” button, and log in to print or view any of your credentials The CTC went paperless in 2006. You will not receive a paper credential. The online copy on your Educator Page at www.ctc.ca.gov is considered the official credential. The Preliminary credential is good for 5 years. A Clear credential is earned upon completion of an Induction program, either through an employer, or through an approved college or university. Once employed, if your employer does not offer an induction program, you may seek an Induction program through a college or university in order to Clear your credential. Revised 2/15/2018 CH
