How to find ONLINE classes California  Virtual  Campus  (CVC)  is  a  tool  which  provides  a  course  catalog  for  students  to  find  online   courses  being  offered  at  campuses  across  California.  These  courses  may  or  may  not  count  for  general   education  credit.  It  is  the  student’s  responsibility  to  check  campus  agreements  via  www.assist.org  to   determine  class  articulation.  Please  make  sure  you  follow  all  the  steps  below.   1. Visit  www.cvc.edu   2. Click  on  the  “Catalog”  tab   3. Fill  out  relevant  search  information

4. Select  a  course  that  appears  similar  to  the  course/requirement  you  are  trying  to  fulfill  at  Cal   Poly.  Make  note  of  the  college  and  course  prefix  number.   5. Visit  www.assist.org  to  check  course  articulations  (i.e.  that  the  class  will  transfer  for  the  GE  area   or  requirement  you  desire  at  Cal  Poly).  See  the  back  side  of  this  flyer  for  further  instructions.   Note:  Only  lower  division  courses  can  possibly  be  fulfilled  at  A  CA  Community  College,  upper   division  courses  must  be  completed  at  an  accredited  university.  You  will  need  to  consult  with  Cal   Poly  Evaluations  Office  or  your  Department  to  verify  the  course  articulation.   6. Go  directly  to  the  college  website  to  apply  and  register  for  the  course.   7. When  the  course  is  completed,  be  sure  to  send  transcripts  back  to  Cal  Poly,  to  the  following   address:   OAR  –  Evaluations

Cal  Poly   San  Luis  Obispo,  CA  93407

Important  notes  about  taking  classes  outside  Cal  Poly  and  online:  1.  it  may  take  several  weeks/months   to  have  credit  applied  to  your  degree  progress,  2.  review  your  online  options  closely  as  some  require   that  you  complete  exams  in  person,  3.  most  campuses  in  CA  are  semester  system  and  dates  may  overlap   with  more  than  one  CP  quarter,  4.  online  classes  require  self  motivation  and  commitment  –  be   prepared.    Contact  your  Advising  Center  if  you  need  additional  assistance.
