How to make coasters Coaster size 5” x 5”
Material List to make one coaster (if you are making more, please multiply) Six 1 1/2” x 6” strips in various prints One 6” x 6” batting One 6” x 6” backing 1 1/2” x 25” strip for binding
Sewing Instructions 1. Layer backing fabric facing down, batting, and one strip of 1 1/2” x 6” facing up, lining the left edge. 2. Place the second strip facing down on top of the first strip. Sew right side of the strip with 1/4” seam, flip and press. 3. Place the third strip on the second strip and repeat the process to sew all the 6 strips. 4. Trim to make 5” x 5” square. Stay stitch all around about 1/8” from the edge. 5. Attach the binding. This is single layer binding. First, fold 1/4” from the edge(perpendicularly), and place in the middle of one side. Start sewing with generous 1/4” seam, and miter the corners and sew all the way around. Turn the binding fabric over to the back side and fold 1/4” seam in and whip stitch to finish.
