Talking about your Magic Little Grant
We ask that supported charities and groups acknowledge the grant and its impact in all marketing and public relations materials (where appropriate), so that as wide an audience as possible learn about Postcode Community Trust funding. We are also keen to help you gain as much awareness of your cause as possible, and the team at Localgiving are here to help you achieve that. How to talk about your grant. It is most important to acknowledge the support of Postcode Community Trust, as well as thanking players of People’s Postcode Lottery where possible. For example: This project has been made possible by a grant from Postcode Community Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. When referencing your award, please use the following terms: • Grant • Award • Funding • Support Please do not use the word donation.
Marketing your Magic Little Grant Printed material
All projects that receive a grant can acknowledge the grant when producing printed publicity material. For example leaflets, posters, annual reports and other publications. You may also add the logo to equipment and kit. Please be aware of the gambling law, which prohibits the use of the People’s Postcode Lottery logo on kit worn by individuals under the age of 25. Please use this logo on any printed materials.

Online If your organisation has a website, you can add the Postcode Community Trust logo to acknowledge your Magic Little Grant. Please use t his logo. If possible, please include a short description about Localgiving and the Postcode Community Trust – for example: “We received a Magic Little Grant through the partnership between Localgiving and the Postcode Community Trust. The Postcode community Trust is a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. Our project received from the Trust to ” Please provide a clickable link to the Postcode Community Trust site, so that more people know how they can apply for funding. Their website address is: www.postcodecommunitytrust.org.uk Please also include a link to the People’s Postcode Lottery website, so that people can find out how to play and thus support more charities. The website address is www.postcodelottery.co.uk
Social Media
Upon receiving your grant, you can ‘like’ Localgiving’s and Postcode Community Trust’s Facebook page (facebook.com/Localgiving and facebook.com/postcodecommunitytrust), and follow Twitter (twitter.com/localgiving and twitter. com/pcommunitytrust). This will help you to keep up to date with our news. You can then use social media to provide updates on your project and show others how the funding is making a difference. Please let us know how you’re using your funding by sharing updates with Localgiving on social media. You can use @Localgiving on both Twitter and Facebook. 3
Where possible, use Postcode Community Trust and People’s Postcode Lottery social media handles to acknowledge the grant and support from the players: @pcommunitytrust @postcodelottery Example Tweets and Posts Use social media to alert your supporters to your cause, tell them about upcoming events and direct them to your website. Facebook: “Our project received of funding through @Localgiving Magic Little Grant Fund. This was provided from players of @People’s Postcode Lottery through @ PostcodeCommunityTrust” Twitter (remember, no more than 140 characters): “We are delighted to have received £X from @Localgiving Magic Little Grant Fund” Please always try to include images on social media relating to the project where possible. Remember you will need to obtain the appropriate permissions should anyone in the photographs be under the age of 16.
