How to Resize Photos So far we have studied; · typography and photographic composition, the rule of thirds · how Aperture, Exposure, Time and Focus work · Camera and Tripod fundamentals · Cropping in Photoshop, and PSD_Magnetic_Lasso.mov Magnetic Lasso Selecting, Layers, and Gaussian Blur. For the Yearbook, we have several folders on file, BUT THERE IS A PROBLEM! The School Server has limited storage space, and some photos demand a great amount of memory. (For instance, if a photo is 21 inches wide, it will use lots of memory!) We will do an assignment to; · Adjust Mode setting to CKMY or Grey (for black and white) · set Resolution (300 ppi) · · Resize image dimensions (8½ x 11 or less) · adjust Curves or Levels for white balance and skin tones · convert Filetype to JPG (for print output) · Name documents, folders, and back-ups.

1. Open a Photoshop file and look in the lower left hand corner of the window; how big is the document?
Set Resolution first, to 300 ppi The height and width will automatically change also.
You can't sample up- if you have a 150 ppi document and you set it to 300 it will result in very poor image quality.
