In my opinion, for teenagers, a job is the means to financially support his family and fulfil his desires. Apart from facilitating financial independence, it made one feel mature and responsible. Personally, it makes me feel like an adult. As a Process Associate with Sterlite Technologies, this is my first job experience. I had to learn how to use public transportation, how to interact with my co-workers, work with different types of people, and be punctual. In a way, I have learned real-life skills in under a year. I will never forget my first job experience as it has given me the right direction to have a mature outlook towards life. I started as an intern at Sterlite Technologies. My first thought was I would be working in a cubicle entering data, clearing paperwork and barely talking to my co-workers. However, I was wrong. To my pleasant surprise, none of this came true. Sterlite Technologies is a modern, fast-paced company. They work with

automated machinery and the latest technologies. Sterlite Technologies is a leading company hiring Diploma Engineer Trainees (DETs) straight from the campus as interns, and I have to say, they did a fantastic job. During our internship, our supervisor gave us useful advice on furthering our careers. That advice has proved to be beyond helpful. Before I knew it, it was the last day of my internship.
the backs of our hands. Finally, after a couple of weeks, I was ready to give my best. It was an enjoyable experience and I love my job.
Then, Sterlite recruited me as Process Associate. My first day at work was December 1, 2015. I remember entering the office nervously and taking a seat. I glanced around and saw my expression mirrored on my co-workers’ faces. Our supervisor welcomed us warmly. They clearly explained what they expected and walked us through the steps. I remember leaving with a smile, happy that I landed my dream job. The first week was very informative. Our supervisors helped us to become familiar with the teams. We did tutorials and assignments until we knew what we are supposed to be doing like
Overall, my time with Sterlite has taught me many beneficial lessons. To always have an open mind and be willing to work in any type of work environment. To be willing to adapt to fit in a new work place; and to always be respectful and kind not only with my future supervisors, but with my co-workers as well. What I have learned in the span of less than one year will always be a big part of me through life. I am looking forward to applying this knowledge in the future as well.
Today, I am capable of training my juniors to ensure he delivers his/her best on the job. It was nerve-wracking but our supervisors were there every step of the way, guiding and correcting my mistakes. Week by week, time flew by.
