I believe that all of us would say this past season was not smooth and was not without adversity and its issues. So if we are looking for someone to blame well I can help with that It is me the blame is squarely on my shoulders! So I have asked you here today to help me repair and build. I believe that a successful and outstanding program stands with a good foundation and with four rock solid pillars
Program 4. The Administration has to want it
3. The Coaches have to want it 2. The Players have to want it
5. The Community can help get it Parents
For a Softball program to flourish, grow and succeed, it needs to have a strong relationship with the community, and even stronger partnership among the athletes, coaches, administration, and parents. I believe parents do not know the power they have for good and for bad. I believe we all share the commonly held belief that experiences offered by athletic competition will be an extension of classroom learning. Moreover, I believe that our positive character is displayed and built through the adversity of athletics. LakeVille Memorial High School is a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association. (MHSAA). We are also a part of the Tri-Valley East Athletic Conference, Each of the aforementioned groups as well as our Board of Education and LakeVille High School create the policies, rules, and regulations for athletics. The rules and regulations of our athletic contests are governed by the National Federation of High School Sports and often differ from collegiate or professional sports. All of the organizations that we are a part of stress the fundamentals of fair play and strong sportsmanship. They ask all of our spectators to encourage and support, to let the athletes play, the coach’s coach, and the officials officiate.
LakeVille Falcons Softball Vision Statement To pursue academic and athletic excellence through participation in a high-quality athletic program which is committed to a values-based philosophy for Softball that emphasizes the ideals of Pursuing Victory with Honor, and to win with humility and class to lose with grace and class?
Mission Statement The Softball program at LakeVille Memorial High School will be a part of the educational process for the student-athletes participating in the program. In addition to learning the skills of playing softball on the high school level, our players will be taught the values associated with being a good citizen, a good student, and a good teammate. These values will assist our players with their college dreams and careers beyond their high school experience. Additionally, we want our players to be involved with Community activities other than Softball. Being a Softball player at LakeVille is a privilege that must be earned, not entitled. Our players must understand that playing Softball is a commitment and not an interest. We want them to have a passion about playing and understanding the sport of Fast Pitch Softball. We strive to play the best players in the game, but we do not choose to do this at any cost for the student or for the program. Players will be held accountable for their choices, on or off the field. We do not allow personalities to enter into those decisions. We will define the
roles of the players and be honest with them in our evaluation of their ability. We will strive to make participation on our Softball team a positive experience. Being successful in Softball requires developing a strong physical presence. We will encourage our players to develop their physical abilities to a personal maximum level. We will not take short cuts to achieve this goal. We will remind our players that success is a choice. It is a choice they can make. We will not compromise our integrity to achieve on-the-field success. Success will be achieved with planning, believing, and executing the goals of the LakeVille Falcons Softball program.
