Tantalum Polymer COTS Series T540/T541 Background KEMET’s COTS series of Tantalum Surface Mount capacitors are designed for the Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) requirements of military, aerospace and other high reliability applications. All existing COTS products in the market today utilize MnO2 as the cathode plate of the capacitors. KEMET’s T540 and T541 Polymer COTS series are the first to market COTS product line utilizing an organic conductive polymer as the cathode plate of the capacitor. This s tec technology o ogy results esu ts in lower o e ESR S a and d improved p o ed capac capacitance ta ce retention ete t o at high g frequency.

KEMET’s Polymer COTS (T540/T541 Series) capacitors are rated for operation between -55°C and +125°C. Parametric electrical performance remains within stated specification limits after 1000 hours of continuous operation and/or storage at +125°C . Long term duty cycles or storage at or above +125°C +125 C may result in an increase in ESR performance outside of the stated specification limits limits.
