New Member Installation

Installation of new members was moved to April 4, 2013 meeting.

New Business

Spring Event: Linda Dickey led the discussion regarding the event. The event date was chosen as Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Ramada Inn. Program will include a cocktail hour for networking, vendors, dinner and a presentation by Jill Swanson. Fees and pricing were discussed along with Portfolios that will be distributed to attendees with the “Be The One” logo. Possible sponsorship by McNeilus and Schmidt Goodman. Registration procedure being determined to see payment and registration can be done online. Capacity of the event will be 300 but are hoping for at least 100. Purpose of the event will be for membership recruitment. The treasurer could possibly keep track of the membership. If there are question regarding the event, please contact Linda Dickey. Motion to sign the contract with Canadian Honker by Mary Claire Hachmeister, second by Laurie Holland. The motion carried unanimously. Discussion ensued regarding advertising for the chapter. Jennifer Garness presented a standing promotional display that has the chapter logo that can be used to advertise at meetings and events. The cost is for the banner is $329.00, not including lighting, tax, and shipping. Motion to purchase IAAP Chapter banner and lighting by Brenda Longman, seconded by Kathy Wilson. The motion carried unanimously. Jennifer Garness will email members what the banner would look like to get final approval before ordering.

Minutes

Kim Lemmerman moved to approve the minutes from February Meeting. Denise Cox seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.

Committee Reports

Mentoring Program: Contact Carol Graumann Matz. Website: Jennifer Garness is updating the look. She will look into creating an online registration form and a payment portal for registration. Newsletter: Laurie Holland will have the March/April Newsletter at the April meeting. Email: [email protected] to add items. Fundraising: Mary Claire Hachmeister reported the Herbergers Community Day sale was semi-successful. Clothing with chapter logo suggested as a fundraiser. Nominations: Kathy Wilson discussed nominations and handed passed a handout asking individuals to put their names next to items of interest. The Nominations Committee will present slate of officers at the April meeting. Election of officers will occur in May. Jennifer Garness discussed what she has gained from taking on leadership. Term begins July 1st, if you are interested. Nomination forms will be sent in a PDF format via email. Education: No report. Certification: Process discussed, advantages discussed and requirements of the chapter to keep its standing with the required number of certified members.

New Business

A quorum of the meeting was lost. Jennifer Garness explained that she would email the draft bylaws to members to vote on. Jennifer will maintain the electronic responses as an official vote. Jennifer updated members on the chapter of excellence criteria to date.
