iConnect Preteen Ministry Spring 2018

Hello! Well we have had a great fall and winter here at iConnect, but we are ready for Spring;me and some warmer weather! On Fridays, we have had lots of fun at events like Human Bowling and Mario Night, along with our Alive nights which include more sharing ;me with friends, snacks and more. Our Sunday morning program starts with hot cocoa and con;nues with our Trek program - looking at the big picture story of the Bible, led by our fun and crea;ve teachers, Val, Michelle and Angelika! Now that Spring is here, we will be welcoming the Grade 5s who are finishing up KidZone to join us on Friday nights for our events and ac;vi;es so they can cross over from the kids ministry to iConnect. We are excited to get to know them bePer and have lots of fun together star;ng on April 6th! We are kicking off the new season with some ac;vi;es during Spring Break week too. Be sure to check the details included on the flyer in this newslePer for all informa;on. Once iConnect wraps up in May, we will be saying goodbye to our Grade 7s, who will be able to move up to Youth early and join in on our Youth events and retreat in May and June! Check the enclosed flyer for all Youth events that Grade 7s are able to aPend. We are also star;ng to plan for Crossover Week, our aWernoon events that take place aWer VBS from July 9-13. We know it’ll be a great week and a nice way to kick off summer break, which will include other ac;vi;es for preteens and teens too. Be sure to mark your calendars for a fun week together! Friday Night Calendar Unless otherwise noted, all events are for Grades 5-7 and take place in the iConnect room from 7-9pm. 2016-2017 Consent Waiver required to parDcipate— be sure to hand it in if you haven’t done so already! There are no Friday events during Spring Break (March 23/30). See the enclosed flyer for informaKon about weekday/weeknight events during the break. April 6 — Amazing Race Work in teams to complete this church-wide compe;;on with prizes for the winning teams—a crowd favourite that we do every year! Parent volunteers needed. April 13 —Alive Join us for games, worship with the youth, snacks, a devo;onal and more! As the Grade 5s will now be part of iConnect, we will have some special ac;vi;es so the group can get to know one another bePer. April 20—Photo Rally This popular event sees students working in teams to complete a photo scavenger hunt— then come back next week for the photo reveal and to see who won!
April 27—Alive Join us for games, worship with the youth, snacks, a devo;onal and more! We will be showing the photos from last week’s event and announcing the winning team as well. May 5—Fort Night Wrap-Up Party!! Ever wanted to make a blanket fort the size of the lounge? Prepare for a night of fun and forts as we close out the school year with fort building, games, and ice cream!!
