An Uncomfortable Moment (22-24)  “You do not know what you are asking” 22  “Are you able to drink the cup I am to drink”? 22b  “You will drink my cup . . .” __Suffering___ 23, Acts 12:2 C. An Unacceptable Mind-Set (25-26a) In this world, leadership is all about:  __Position___________ - “rulers of the Gentiles”  __Power_____________- “lord it over”  __Prestige___________- “their great ones”  __Privilege __________ - They have servants, they DON’T serve! D. An Unthinkable Model (26b-28) This is a fundamental realignment  “Whoever would be great” = ___servant____ (“diakonos”)  “Whoever would be first” = __slave________ (“doulos”)  “Son of Man” = __Jesus_____

Conclusion: 1. This illustrates how easy it is not to __listen_________ - 18:1- 4 2. This clearly exposes how __proud_____ the heart can be. 3. This demonstrates, once again, the ___backwards____ teaching of Christ.
