The 2012-2013 Coaching Staff: With our energized coaching staff, we are ready for an exciting season. Under the coordination of our Hockey Director, Sylvain Turcotte, we have assembled the finest group of coaches in the state! Our goalies will be instructed by the Wendell Young Goaltending School. AHAI Two-Choice Rule Amatuer Hockey Assoc. of Illinois Travel Tier II hockey players in Illinois can skate for two organizations in their Mite through Midget playing careers. Under certain circumstances a substitute choice may be granted. Mite A2 participation does not count as a choice if state guidelines for A2 participation are followed. Some travel organizations have restrictive policies in effect, which limit a player’s ability to move between his/her two choices. Glenview does not restrict players from returning if they play for another organization. Detailed information will be handed out at tryouts. All players and their parents who are playing travel Tier II hockey for the first time or who are changing organizations will be counseled by a Glenview Stars Board member. These players/parents will be required to sign a “TwoChoice” Declaration Form when placed on a team.

Zero Tolerance In an effort to make hockey a more enjoyable and safe activity for all involved, the Glenview Stars along with the Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois implements a zero tolerance policy. The Stars organization will be requiring all players and parents to sign a “Zero Tolerance and Parent & Player Expectation” form when teams are formed. Conditioning Clinics and TryOuts: Conditioning clinics will begin Sat., Aug. 18 and continue Sun., Aug. 26. Tryouts for all teams will take place between Mon., Sept. 3 and Sun., Sept. 9. This time commitment is critical to the growth of the player and success of the team. Each Stars travel hockey player can plan on skating approximately 3-5 times per week with their team. In addition, each team may compete in 1-3 out-of-town tournaments per season. • Time Commitment: Typically 3-5 hrs of ice per week • # of Games: Typically 35– 45 per season , level of play dependent.
