WHAT IS ILLUSTRATION? An illustration is an image created to provide a visual representation. This means creating art for a specific purpose with a client’s needs in mind and getting paid for the art you create. The High School Illustration course encourages students to develop different types of illustrations in a variety of media from pencil, to markers, paint and collage. Students will develop drawing skills, work with the elements and principles of art and design, and learn to create advertising, books, caricatures, fashion designs, and other commercial art.
