Sizes To fit Woman’s shoe size 5/6 (7/89/10). Gauge Bernat® Super Value™: 18 sts and 24 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking stitch. Bernat® Fleurettes™: 17 sts and 23 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking stitch.
MATERIALS Bernat® Super Value™ (7 oz/197 g; 426 yds/389 m/) Main Color (MC) Soft Grey (53046) 1 ball Bernat® Fleurettes™ (3.5 oz/ 100 g; 88 yds/80 m) Contrast A Harvest (40521) 1 ball Size U.S. 8 (5 mm) knitting needles. Set of four size U.S. 8 (5 mm) double-pointed knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge. 2 stitch markers.
INSTRUCTIONS The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ). Numbers for each size are shown in the same color throughout the pattern. When only one number is given in black, it applies to all sizes. Note: Bernat® Fleurettes™ has long smooth sections and short looped sections approx 1" [2.5 cm] long. When knitting with Bernat® Fleurettes™, skip looped sections, pulling them to front of work. With MC, beg at toe, cast on 8 sts. 1st row: (RS). Inc1 in each st to end of row. 16 sts. 2nd and alt rows: Purl. 3rd row: *K1. Inc1 in next st. Rep from * to end of row. 24 sts. 5th row: *K3 (1-1). Inc 1 in next st. Rep from * to end of row. 30 (36-36) sts. 6th row: Purl. 7th row: *K1. P1. Rep from * to end of row. Rep last row until work from beg measures 5 (5½-6)" [12.5 (14-15) cm]. Place marker at each end of last row.
Cont in pat until work from beg measures 8 (8½-9)" [20.5 (21.5-23) cm], ending on a RS row. Next row: (WS). (K1. P1) 4 times. (K2tog) 7 (10-10) times. (K1. P1) 4 times. Next row: (K1. P1) 4 times. Cast off 7 (1010) sts. (K1. P1) 4 times. Join a 2nd ball of yarn to first 8 sts. Working both sides at same time, cont in (K1. P1) ribbing until strips from cast off edge measure 1¼" [3 cm]. Cast off. Sew ends of back strips tog. Sew side of strips to cast off edge of Slipper. Sew center front seam to marked row. Sew toe closed. Cuff With double-pointed needles and MC, pick up and knit 36 (40-40) sts around top edge of Slipper. Divide sts on 3 needles. Join in rnd, placing a marker on first st. Break MC. Join A. 1st rnd: With A, knit around, skipping looped sections and pulling them to front of work. Rep last rnd until cuff measures 2½ (2½3)" [6 (6-7.5) cm]. Cast off loosely.
