IN YOUR SERVICE, DO THE WILL OF GOD! Jonah 3:10-4:11

What do you know about Jonah in the Bible or what have you heard being said about this man? A part from what you know, God does things that sometimes we don’t understand or want! Jonah watched the Lord work His sovereign will in the city of Nineveh, even though Jonah did not like it! God is in absolute control of life and God wants us to join Him in serving. THE REVIVAL NEEDS SOMEBODY - An entire town repented of sin and got right with the Lord! We are given the details of Jonah's call, his disobedience and his restoration. Where are you? God has brought us here, like Jonah and God has blessed with a message! God want to save us! OUR REACTION SOMETIMES - Jonah reacted in a very bad way. Jonah was "burned with anger". He wanted God to kill the people! To secure - his prophetic office; save his face from the Israelites; because he hated them. Remember - Jonah didn't get his way with his resentment. Just in case you didn't know it, your arms are too short to box with God! God needs – humility, obedience and submission to His call and duty! Stop Being Mad – Jonah wanted to quit or give up! Just like Moses and Elijah in, Num. 11:15; 1 Kings 19:4. Even when God confronted Jonah about his anger, he climbs a hill outside the city, folds his arms and sits there; hoping God will change His mind! NO! No running and hiding! GOD OF GRACE - extended His love to Jonah, even when his heart was heavy with God. The Lord provided a vine to grow over the prophet's hut to give him shelter and comfort. God has been blessing us even when we are mad at Him! Thank God for His grace, Rom. 5:20! (Amazing Grace!!) God's Priorities Is Paramount - Jonah is told not to enjoy the vine, but to focus on the people. God reminds Jonah that Jonah cared more about a vine than he did the souls of the people of Nineveh. Care for one another, please! As Jonah, do you care more about your reputation and love for self, than doing His will? It is time we put aside all the things that cloud our vision of His will - our hurts, desires and wills - so that we trust and obey His call. Leave your booth and come to Him in humble obedience.
