 Incubation & Embryology kit ($30.00) Contains 1 dozen eggs, 1 incubator, manual of instructions & resources, brooder box, chick feed, and waterers.

 I will attend the free Teacher Workshop Held on Wednesday, April 25h, from 4:00pm— 5:00pm at the CCE Office. Total Due: ___________________ Checks or School Purchase Orders can be made payable to “CCE of Genesee.” Indicate “Incubation & Embryology” on the memo line. Payment is due prior to pick-up of materials. Fees are non-refundable.

What is the Incubation & Embryology Program? The Incubation & Embryology program typically takes place during April and May to give youth hands-on experience in hatching chickens. The program is designed to increase knowledge of the chicken's egg, its importance to man, and its role in reproduction.

2018 Schedule 

April 25: Free Teacher Workshop, 4:00pm to 5:00pm at the CCE Office in Batavia. Pre-registration is required by April 18. This workshop is designed to help teachers conduct classroom incubation and embryology development projects. The workshop will cover basic care and operation of the incubator, poultry basics, and more. *We recommend having one teacher from each participating school attend this workshop.

 April 30: Pick Up Incubation & Embryology

Program Objectives:  Increase knowledge and develop personal confidence and leadership ability through embryology project activities.  Develop youth interest in the science of embryology.  Provide learning experiences in life cycles, incubation, hatching and brooding.  Provide opportunities to demonstrate skills mastered in embryology.

Each Incubation & Embryology Kit contains ($30 fee):     

All required equipment One dozen eggs One Incubator Manual of Instructions and Resources Brooder Box with chick feed and waterer

*Please note: assignment of incubators will be made on a first come, first serve basis based on date full payment and reservation is received by our office. EGG SUPPLY IS LIMITED. If requests exceed the availability we may find it necessary to limit incubators per school.

Kits from the CCE Office, 8:30am—3:30pm. *Incubators must be picked up on this day to allow sufficient time to monitor temperature in the incubators for 24 hours prior to setting the eggs.

Incubation & Embryology Program Agreement I understand that all materials and equipment are the property of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Genesee County. At the end of the program all equipment must be returned in clean and operating condition to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Genesee County. A representative from each school must return all materials and supplies to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Genesee County, 420 East Main Street, Batavia.

 May 24: Return clean incubators, instruction manual, loan materials and chicks to CCE Office by 3:00pm. *If you are returning your chicks to the CCE Office, they must be returned by 3:00pm. Teachers that wish to permanently keep their chicks or place their chicks in a new home may do so. You must follow the Ag & Markets rule of a minimum of 6 chicks per placement.
