Kids for Mission in North East India Goal: $50 per goat About this Mission Project The remote Karbi Hills of North East India, is an untamed region of dense jungle with tigers, wild elephants and rhinoceros. Braving the dangers and discomforts of rainforest heat and humidity, church planters trek to remote villages. They travel in pairs, staying with any villager that receives their message and welcomes their work. Frequently they and their hosts encounter violent opposition and persecution, yet God protects and opens the way to share His love through prayers for the sick, healing and teaching. Church planters receive little or no support. Giving a goat to them and their hosts will meet a basic need for food & nutrition. Others in the community will be blessed as they pass along the offspring. This project provides a tangible expression of the love of Christ to a needy and lost people. This project will also reach many other people groups that we cannot mention here. $100 will provide two young goats (kids). www.internationalministries.org
Mission Project Specifics This project seeks to raise $5000 this year to purchase 100 young goats (kids). These kids will be distributed to 100 needy families to provide a self-sustaining source of nourishment. Each recipient commits to pass on the first off-spring to another family to multiply the blessings! This project will be managed by Dr. Jolly Rimai, Mission Secretary of the Council of Baptist Churches in North East India, with the assistance of evangelists and church planters in the CBCNEI region. It is anticipated that this project will improve the general health and well-being of the recipients initially through milk the goat supplies, and then the overall quality of life with the income generated through development of small herds.
A billion people live in India, but less than 4% are Christians. Many new believers live in poverty and struggle to provide basic needs for their families. This project will allow church planters to share the Gospel, fight malnutrition and provide economic stability in a region which lags far behind the rest of the country in its development.
