Indian Hills -- Celebrate 60
Indian Hills -- Celebrate 60 Indian Hills Junior High first opened its doors to more than 1000 students on September 7, 1955. The outside of the building was mostly complete. However, much of the inside finish work still remained to be done. The students and staff had to endure the noise, the smell of the paint, and the smoking from some of the workers. Since the kitchen was lacking much of its equipment, the same two kinds of sandwiches were prepared each school day in the kitchen at Shawnee Mission Rural High School, which today is known as Shawnee Mission North High School. For this 60th year celebration, we would like to honor those families who have had two or more generations attend Tell others who don't know? Indian Hills.
