INEE Guest Blogger Tips The INEE Blog is an open space for discussion and conversation for INEE members. By serving as a guest blogger, you will help build the INEE community, and raise awareness of issues that you are passionate about. Here are some tips to help get you started:
● Author Intro: Please include something like the below example introductory text with your submission: “ Betty Smith is an Education Programme Manager for Save the Children in Chad. She discusses one of the biggest challenges facing refugees trying to access education…” ● Blogging is fun and easy: You don’t need to labor over every sentence. Be spontaneous, use your own voice. Many bloggers type how they speak, and find it is the best way to connect with readers. ● Blog short: Keep your post within 200600 words . ● Blog quick: There is no need to fully develop and craft your ideas – get your initial thoughts down on paper, and let INEE members join the dialogue through the comments feature. Take a coffee break, and write your post. ● Blog about: what is interesting and engaging for you: o Do you have an issue that you are particularly passionate about and would like to discuss? o Is there a challenge you are facing in your work that you would like to share and debate? o Or perhaps there is a particular success you would like to celebrate? o Tell us about an event or meeting you have recently attended that you thought was interesting and relevant for other members o Do you have a question or controversial opinion that you would like other INEE members to consider? o Give some brief background information, e.g. how long have you been a member of INEE, and has this been your first interaction with other members of the network? ● Images and links: Images and links to related resources can enhance your blog post. All photos should be accompanied with the location, date, and name of photographer/organization. ● Spread the word: Once your post is online, you can send the URL to your colleagues to let them know about your post and encourage them to comment and join the conversation. You can also use the social media icons on the page to promote it further. Please send your blog post, preferably in a Word document, to
[email protected] and
[email protected] . We will do some very basic editing, and will insert any images and links that you include with your text.
