Community Hours Support For many, many years, Innisfil Community Church has supported those who need to complete community hours for either school or court purposes. Every month we accommodate at least one or two and provide work for them with a signed Community Hours form as proof of completion. Some of those candidates are provided to us by the John Howard Society and Elizabeth Fry Society. We endeavor to assist them in a variety of ways and, in some cases, we have witnessed positive outcome. It often generates more work for the staff, but it is rewarding to occasionally see someone that we have mentored show up in church. After all, it is our mission! To all who read this Newsletter: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 (NLT)

Innisfil Community Church Newsletter APRIL 2018 April Sunshine Although the month of April did not start off well...with snow and ice….the temperatures for the last part of the month were much better. There’s something about the warm sunny days that seems to rejuvenate our bodies and spirits! People are out for walks, flowers are blooming, the birds are singing, and hopefully WE are singing too! What a difference the “Son”, Jesus Christ, can make when we allow Him to shine in our lives! The Bible says there is no darkness in Him, only Light! The more we let Jesus shine in our lives, the more we become like Him. It’s a Heavenly sunshine!

The Presence of God On Sunday, April 15th, many church services throughout the province were cancelled because of the stormy weather, several in our surrounding area. Those who could make it out to ICC received a message on “The Presence of God.” Pastor Courtney shared several scriptures, one from Exodus 33 where the Lord said to Moses, “Go up to the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Moses said “let me know your ways so I may understand you more fully and continue to enjoy your favor.” Then the Lord said to Moses, “My presence shall go with you, and will give you rest.” Moses replied “If your presence does not go with me, I can’t go.” Knowing and sensing the presence of God in our lives is vital. We do not need to go somewhere special to seek His presence, but are called to worship Him and live guided by His Spirit that lives within us.

Ladies Bible Study

Innisfil’s Mayor, Gord Wauchope, was held on Wednesday, April 25th, with approximately 85 in attendance. The breakfast (catered by Colin’s Catering) was held at the Stroud Rec Centre. There was a good representation from South Simcoe Police, Innisfil Fire, Town of Innisfil and various local businesses. We were also pleased to see a good number from our church family. Pastor Courtney co-ordinates this event every year, with the support of other ministers in the Innisfil community. This year’s theme was “Hope” - a fitting topic for discussion, in the light of the recent tragedy in Toronto.

Jennifer Hay facilitates two Bible studies on Wednesdays. Last month we posted a picture of the morning class. Below is a picture of the evening class. Both classes have an attendance of about 30 ladies in total. The ladies look forward to these times together and have formed a bond of friendship. Thank you, Jennifer!
