Information sheet for the 2017 - 2018 Season (Boys Competitive Travel Basketball) Tryouts:
3rd – 6th grades: October 9 and 12 7th / 8th grade: December 8 and 9
League Play:
Big Cat Basketball League (www.bigcatbasketball.com) All 5/6/7/8 grade games played in South Lyon or Whitmore Lake 3rd / 4th grade games at Novi Middle School 2 games on each playing date for all teams. All games are on weekends.
3rd and 4th Grade teams – ~ 14 games (exact game schedules will be published by Big Cat League) League Games Begin: January, 7, 2018 Dates and Times are estimated League Game Times: 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm based on past seasons League Tournament: Mar. 11 5th / 6th Grade teams – ~ 20 games (exact game schedules will be published by Big Cat League) League Games Begin: December 10, 2017 Dates and Times are estimated League Game Times: 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm based on past seasons League Tournament: Mar. 24 and 25 7th / 8th Grade teams – ~ 14 games (exact game schedules will be published by Big Cat League) League Game Begin: January 28, 2018 Dates and Times are estimated League Game Times: 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm based on past seasons League Tournament: Mar. 24 and 25 Note: The season will not conflict with the Novi Middle School basketball program. Some coaches may elect to play in post season tournaments and will advise so at tryouts Playing Time: NO guarantee; at coach’s sole discretion, missed practices may reduce playing time. Expected Practice: Generally, two 90-minute practices per week weeknights and Saturdays. Practice times and locations dependent on gym availability. $350 to $400 / player (includes approximately $115 for uniform) $425 to $450 / player (includes approximately $115 for uniform) $375 to $400 / player (includes approximately $115 for uniform)
Costs include estimates for two tournaments. Additional costs may occur, primarily if teams participate in additional tournaments.
Invitation to join a CATS team are processed through our website, and an initial deposit of $250 is required within 72 hours of your acceptance (credit card payments can be accepted on the Novi Cats website). Final payments and uniform ordering will be billed separately.
