SWA, in conjunction with TreePeople, and Social Justice Learning Institute (SJLI), propose a comprehensive Greening Plan for the City of Inglewood and the adjacent unincorporated community of Lennox. SWA prepared a series of planning studies and documents identifying land areas to increase strategic tree planting, community gardens, best practices for capture and/or conservation of rainwater, and other strategic landscaping opportunities. Increased community health will be a major consideration, especially an increase in locally-grown food and pedestrian-friendly areas. A special focus of this planning effort is given to engaging local residents in identifying projects that they can implement as volunteer leaders, at minimal or reasonable cost, so that project implementation will be a direct and immediate result of the planning process.
