elcome to St Peter & St Paul’s Anglican Church! We’re so glad you’ve joined us for worship today. For 132 years people have gathered here, at the corner of Metcalfe and Gloucester streets to hear the Good News of what God has accomplished for us in Jesus Christ, to worship, to share life together, and to be sent out in mission. If you have children, please know that during our 10:30 am service, our parish provides nursery care and junior church for children up through grade six. Children usually stay with their families during the beginning of the service and then are called up to the front of the church for a blessing before they head off to the nursery or junior church, where they experience worship and God’s word in a space created for their discipleship. The children return to the service for Holy Communion. Holy Communion is a central part of our worship. All baptized Christian believers are welcome to receive the Eucharist. If you are not baptized, not yet a believer or would rather not receive, you are welcome to come forward, cross your arms across your chest and you will receive God’s blessing from the priest. If you are a guest today, please stay for coffee after the service to find out more about who we are. Make sure to check out our website (peterpaulottawa.com) and subscribe to our e-newsletters. We are excited about what God is doing in this place.

Thanksgiving 17 Sunday after Trinity TH

October 8, 2016

Most merciful Father, we humbly thank You for all Your gifts so freely bestowed upon us; for life and health and safety; for strength to work and leisure to rest; for all that is beautiful in creation and in human life; but above all we thank You for our spiritual mercies in Christ Jesus our Lord; who with You and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Our bulletin is both an information piece and a prayer guide. We suggest you pray today’s collect thoughout the week.

ALMIGHTY GOD, as we prepare to renew our buildings and keep open the doors for worship, help us open our hearts and minds to your Holy Spirit. Enable us to envision an ever growing church family who will be attentive to your word, and respond to your guidance and direction. As we work to renew these buildings, so renew our life together in this place, and release us to minister in your name. Give us a spirit of wisdom, generosity, and perseverance, that our parish buildings will bring glory, honour and praise to you. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
