McCann’s 4.4 Gallon Water Booster P/N 16-2173 (115V) & 16-2183 (220V)
INSTALLATION 1. Locate Water Booster near accessible potable water supply capable of supplying a 100 gallons per hour pump. 2. Locate the Water Booster within 3 feet of a properly rated electrical supply. The power rating for the Water Booster is located on the motor ID plate. 3. Before installing the water supply line to Water Booster, open the water supply valve to flush out any debris that may have accumulated in the system. 4. Connect to water supply with minimum of 3/8 ID flex line. 5. Connect 1/4 ID x 3/8 OD tubing to double vented check valve then to pressure relief valve and secure. Route drain lines to proper drain.
! Caution Failure to connect & route drain tubes to proper drain may result in water damage. 6. Connect Water Booster outlet to a Water Booster or dispenser. 7. Turn the water supply to the Water Booster to “ON”. 8. Plug the Water Booster into the grounded electrical supply outlet. 9. GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS (for grounded, cord connected Water Boosters) This appliance must be grounded. In the event of malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
DANGER - Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. The conductor with insulation having an outer surface that is green with or without yellow stripes is the equipmentgrounding conductor. If repair or replacement of the cord or plug is necessary, do not connect the equipmentgrounding conductor to a live terminal. Check with a qualified electrician or serviceman if the grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if in doubt as to whether the appliance is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the appliance - if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. This appliance is for use on a nominal 120 V circuit, and has a grounding plug that looks like the plug illustrated in sketch A in Figure 1. The Water Booster's power cord is terminated with a 3-prong (NEMA 5-15) Electrical Plug. DO NOT modify or use an extension to adapt the plug to the receptacle. A qualified electrician should be consulted if there is any doubt as to whether an outlet box is properly grounded.

10. If the Water Booster is to be installed in places where local codes require permanent wiring, have a licensed electrician perform the installation. Below are the list of recommended basic installation steps to be followed. Local codes may require more.
! Warning Always disconnect power supply leading to the Water Booster during this process. Failing to do so may cause property damage, injury, and/or death. A. Remove “knock out” disc, cap, or plug adjacent to the electrical compartment of the motor. Install proper conduit connector and secure properly to the motor. The three wires (white, black, and green) should be fed through the conduit connector and brought into the wiring compartment of the motor. The conduit may now be inserted into the connector and secured. B. GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS (for permanently connected appliances) Permanently-connected appliances must be connected to a grounded, metal, permanent wiring system; or an equipment-grounding conductor must be run with the circuit conductors and connected to the equipment-grounding terminal or lead on the appliance. C. The green wire is “GROUND” and must be terminated with a Ring terminal. The Ring terminal must be secured to the motor housing using the green colored screw. D. The white wire from the conduit and the white wire from the cable connected to the Water Booster tank should be joined securely using proper insulated wire connectors (e.g. wire nuts, crimp-on connectors). E. There are two threaded electrical studs in the wiring compartment of the motor. One post has the black wire from the cable connected to the Water Booster tank probe and will be used to connect the black wire from the conduit. Use proper wire termination as required. F. Install cover(s) and secure the Water Booster. Once the above steps are completed, check the power supply availability. 11. Operate a non-carb dispensing valve located on the dispenser that is supplied by the Water Booster to cycle the Water Booster to clear any gaps in the lines. The approximate cycle time is about 15 seconds. FACTORY PRESETS MODEL

12. Inspect the installation to verify that all of the Oetiker clamps are crimped and that there are no leaks. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS Once unit is installed, Water Booster functions automatically. User intervention is not required for normal operation. Water Boosters do not have any user-operated controls.
