Elerby, ‘Investors in Pupils’ coordinator ‘Investors in Pupils’ Reassessment The St Lawrence Academy, Scunthorpe Dear Mrs Barnes, Thank you for inviting me, and my colleague Sonya Midgley, to reassess The Academy for ‘Investors in Pupils’ on 11th July 2014. I can now confirm that the reassessment report has been quality assured by the West Yorkshire Investors in Pupils Partnership. I am therefore pleased to inform you that The St Lawrence Academy has successfully retained the ‘Investors in Pupils’ accreditation. The decision was based on information and evidence from a variety of sources, including the very detailed self-assessment form from Mr. Ellerby, the pre-assessment telephone conversation with Bishop David and a full timetable of interviews involving a range of stakeholders involved in contributing to the ethos, values and work of the Academy. This includes senior leaders, Trustees, parents, teachers, non-teaching staff; students from across the age and achievement range, the School Council and so many students with leadership and positions of responsibility. The Academy has an abundance of articulate, responsible and enthusiastic students; it was a pleasure and privilege to meet so many of them. As part of your continued approach to ‘student voice’ and responsibility I know that my colleagues from ‘Investors in Pupils’ are keen to discuss ways in which The Academy could become even further involved in supporting other schools towards future developments. I would like to thank all the students and staff of The St Lawrence Academy for such an enjoyable visit and for the opportunity and privilege to witness such a positive learning community in action.
