Dear Presidents and Secretaries General, It is my great pleasure to extend an invitation to AIBA National Member Federations to participate in the 2012 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships which will be held from May 9 to 20 in Qinhuangdao, China. Following the great success of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships Barbados 2010 which saw a significant increased participation and performance levels, the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships Qinhuangdao 2012 will feature the best women boxers in the world. This World Championships will also be the unique Olympic Qualifying Event for three weight categories, so boxers participating in these weight categories will all be striving to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games. AIBA looks forward to welcoming you in Qinhuangdao to witness the highest quality women’s boxing in the world.

Chers Présidents et Secrétaires Généraux, C’est avec un grand plaisir que j’adresse une invitation aux Fédérations Nationales Membres de l’AIBA à participer aux Championnats du Monde de Boxe Féminine de l’AIBA de 2012 qui auront lieu du 9 au 20 mai à Qinhuangdao, en Chine. Suite au succès des Championnats du Monde de Boxe Féminine de l’AIBA Barbade 2010 marqués par une signifiante augmentation de la participation et du niveau de performance, les Championnats du Monde de Boxe Féminine de l’AIBA Qinhuangdao 2012 mettront en lumière les meilleures boxeuses du monde. Ces Championnats feront également office d’unique Tournoi de Qualification Olympique dans trois catégories du poids, donc les boxeuses participant dans ces catégories de poids donneront tout pour assurer leur participation aux Jeux Olympiques de Londres 2012. L’AIBA a hâte de vous accueillir à Qinhuangdao pour admirer le plus haut niveau mondial de la boxe féminine.

Estimados Presidentes y Secretarios Generales: Con gran placer les extiendo una invitación a todas las Federaciones Nacionales miembros de AIBA para participar en los Campeonatos Mundiales de Boxeo Femenil de AIBA, que se llevarán a cabo del 9 al 20 de mayo de 2012 en Qinhuangdao, China. Después del gran éxito de los Campeonatos Mundiales de Boxeo Femenil de AIBA Barbados 2010, en los que hubo un aumento en participación y nivel competitivo, los Campeonatos Mundiales de Boxeo Femenil de AIBA Qinhuangdao 2012 mostrarán a las mejores boxeadoras del mundo. Los Campeonatos Mundiales son también el único evento de calificación Olímpica para tres categorías de peso, por lo que las boxeadores participantes en esas categorías de peso tendrán el objetivo de calificar a los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres 2012. AIBA espera darles la bienvenida en Qinhuangdao para presenciar el nivel más alto de boxeo femenil del mundo.

Elite Women Boxers who were born between January 1, 1978 – December 31, 1993 (ages 19 - 34) and Youth Women Boxers who were born between January 1, 1994 and December 31,1995 (ages 17-18) are eligible to participate 10 Weight Categories as follows: 45-48 kg, 51 kg, 54 kg, 57 kg, 60 kg, 64 kg, 69 kg, 75 kg, 81 kg, 81+ kg
NUMBER OF ROUNDS Four (4) rounds of two (2) minutes, one (1) minute rest between rounds.

SCORING SYSTEM Only the AIBA Scoring System must be used – Swiss Timing Scoring System.

REFEREES & JUDGES All Referees & Judges will be selected and appointed by AIBA. No National Federation can send its own R&Js to this event.
9.
REGISTRATION REGULATIONS A. Boxers: AIBA National Member Federations can send only one (1) boxer in each weight category who must already be registered in the AIBA Database. One (1) reserve boxer per weight category may be entered on the final entry form. It is also permissible for a National Federation to substitute one (1) boxer for another at any time up to the close of the General Weigh-In and Medical Examination, provided that the substitute boxer has been entered as a reserve for that weight category or any other weight category. All other cases of substitution in accordance with the AIBA Technical & Competition Rules shall be finalized the day before the General WeighIn. B. Number of Team Officials: Each Team Delegation can have the following number of officials: o 1 - 3 boxers: 2 coaches o 4 - 7 boxers: 3 coaches o 8 - 10 boxers: 4 coaches All coaches must have the AIBA appropriate certification and AIBA will check this at the time of registration. Without the appropriate AIBA certification, coaches will not be allowed to enter this event. o In addition, each Team Delegation may be accompanied by one (1) team manager, one (1) team doctor and one (1) physiotherapist o Only coaches and boxers will be allowed to enter boxers’ changing rooms

REGISTRATION FORM There will be one stage in the registration process:
The registration process will be done via an online registration system. In order to register online, AIBA will provide National Federations with an username and password to access the following website registration site: www.aiba-admin.ch/team_women The deadline for registration (including scanned passport copies) is Monday April 9, 2012 at 18:00 CET.
AIBA will not accept any registration past this deadline. 11.
REQUIREMENTS A. All boxers must bring the following items to the General Weigh-In: Record Book with annual medicals duly completed and updated Current and valid passport Accreditation card B. Each Team Delegation must bring the following: National flag 1 x 1.5 m National anthem on MP3 or CD C. Boxer’s Uniform: Each boxer must bring two sets of uniform Boxers must wear a red or blue form fitting vest and either shorts or skirt

as per the boxers’ respective corner allocation which shall be their own responsibility The belt line of any shorts or skirt must be clearly indicated by a contrasting color and by using a 6-10cm wide elastic waistband (the belt line is an imaginary line from the navel to the top of the hips).
BOXING EQUIPMENT AIBA will provide its licensed boxing gloves, headguards and hand bandages to all boxers for all bouts, and these will be distributed through the LOC. Both boxing gloves and headguards are compulsory official items which all boxers must wear, and not their personal ones.

TRANSPORTATION A. Airport Reception: All participants will be welcomed at Beijing and Qinhuangdao Airport and the LOC will arrange transportation from Beijing Airport to Qinhuangdao (two and a half hours). B. Ground Transportation: There will be a welcome desk at Team Delegation Hotel(s) to guide all Team Delegation to the ground transportation LOC will provide local transportation between Team Delegation Hotel(s), Competition Venue and Training Venue(s) during the Championships period LOC will also provide local transportation for all Team Delegations upon departures 14.
ACCOMMODATION A. Room Rates for Team Delegations are as follows: For single occupancy US$ 90 per person, per day, including 3 meals (1 person per room) For double occupancy US$ 65 per person, per day, including 3 meals (2 persons per room) B. Payment of Hotel Room Charges: All Team Delegations must pay the full room charges at the time of arrival in CASH (US$ only) as the Organizing Committee will not be able to accept any other form of payment
Upon arrival, all Team Delegations must make the full payment for the entire Championships period – May 9 to 20, 2012 Team Delegations will not be able to receive accreditation cards and hotel room keys if they do not make the payment in full
C. Check-In and Check-Out: The room rates provided for the competition only apply from May 9 to 20, 2012. The cost for early arrival and late departure is US$ 100 per person, per day. D. Extra Team Officials: No Extra Team Official is allowed to stay at the Team Delegation Hotel(s) LOC assistance can only be given with regards to finding rooms in a different hotel than the Team Delegation Hotel(s) The rates are o Twin room: US$ 100 per person, per day o Single room: US$ 140 per person, per day 15.
INSURANCE All participants are requested to get their own travel and medical insurance. The LOC will provide liability insurance only at the Competition Venue for all participants.
16.
MEDICAL CARE The LOC will provide medical care and first-aid during the entire Championship Period to any participant who suffers from a sports injury contracted during the Championships.
17.
DOPING CONTROL Doping control shall be conducted in accordance with the AIBA Anti-Doping Rules and the World Anti-Doping Code under the supervision of the AIBA Medical and Anti-Doping Sub-Commissions.
18.
MEDALS A gold medal will be awarded to the winner in each weight category, a silver medal to the runner-up. Bronze medals will be awarded to both semi-finalists not progressing to the Final in each weight category.
19.
TRAINING FACILITY LOC will provide training facilities from May 9 (information will be provided to participants upon arrival). The provision of training facilities prior to May 9 may be requested to LOC, but cannot be guaranteed.
20.
VISA LOC will provide assistance to all Team Delegations regarding visas as follow: Team Delegations from countries with a Chinese Embassy must apply for visas prior to travelling Team Delegations from countries without a Chinese Embassy must request a visa support letter from LOC and apply for visas in a Chinese Embassy of a third country which is close to their country Landing visas cannot be granted It is advisable that Team Delegations send all documents to the Chinese Boxing Federation no later than April 9 as after that date, the timely issuance of visas cannot be guaranteed.
