Is Your All Too Small? Promises and Practices: Bristol Bay

The Bristol Bay Region covers 46,573 square miles, making the region larger than the following US States: Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Maine, South Carolina, West Virginia, Maryland, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Rhode Island, and Washington, D.C. The Bristol Bay Region is as large as Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Rhode Island, and Washington, D.C. combined! And God has entrusted a portion of ministry there to us! When the “all” promises from God are too small, the “go into all the world” practices are too small too. Let’s put our “go into all the world” practices under the lens of our microscope.

Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation (Native nation) and tribe (31 in the Bristol Bay Region) and language (Three primary languages for the Yup’ik, Athabascan, and the Aleut – but many dialects) and people. 7 And he said with a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.” The people of the Bristol Bay Region are especially designed by God and tuned in to worshiping “him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.” This comes almost naturally for the Yup’ik, Athabascan, and the Aleut. Will you grow your “all” the world practices by trusting in God’s “all” promises? God’s promises are for you because God has equipped you “with an eternal gospel to proclaim to ALL nations, tribes, languages, and people in the Bristol Bay Region. “The Bristol Bay region, in Southwest Alaska, is pristine wild country stretching across tundra and wetlands, crisscrossed with rivers that flow into the bay.” The Bristol Bay region is home to thirty-one unique tribes.

LIFE GROUPS Listen – My Story 1. This week’s text, Revelation 14:6-7, speaks of heaven, earth, oceans, and springs. What is your favorite place on earth? Why? 2. God loves his earth. God loves Alaska. What do you love about God’s Alaska?

Lift – Prayer   

Please pray for Pastor Mark and Valerie Burgess and ministry in the Bristol Bay region. Anchor of Hope’s ministry of discipleship, youth, and children’s ministry greatly depend upon the emergency restoration of the foundation of the MCA Bristol Bay facility. Please pray for miraculous provision of $45,000 for the foundation of this building and ministry in our newest congregation. Please pray for wisdom regarding your part of proclaiming the eternal Gospel in the Bristol Bay Region.

Learn – Digging Deeper 1. Please read Revelation 14:6-7. The text includes the warning, “the hour of his (God’s) judgement has come.” Do you think the outright wickedness of the major candidates for President of the United States indicates what “hour” it is on God’s timeline? 2. Read Matthew 24:9-12. How close is the United States to fulfilling this prophesy? 3. Matthew 24:12-14 and Revelation 14:6 have a mutual theme. What is that theme? Is this theme an obligation for the Christian today? If so, what should YOU do? 4. There are many ways to show the urgency of your soul for people without Jesus in the Bristol Bay Region. Read John 11:35. What was Jesus’ response? What responses are appropriate from you?

Life – Taking it Home 1. In response to this teaching, what action steps do you need to take this week? 2. What gifting or skill set could God release through you into the Bristol Bay Region?
