IU Relays 2017 Team Information Gladstein Fieldhouse

Make sure to review the final schedule of event, there has not been a change in order, but some of the times have been adjusted to work in the multi-events. Thursday, January 26 – The fieldhouse will be available for shake-out from 10:00am to 5:45pm. From 6:00pm to 8:30pm, the Indiana Track Club (youth, about 200 kids) are in the fieldhouse. Friday, January 27 – The fieldhouse will be available for shake-out from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Multi-Event Coaches – Please make sure to have shots check-in on Friday Evening. Also, please make sure to confirm heights with respective high jump and pole vault officials during warm-up for each event.  Athletes much check in 30 - 45 minutes before their races. Failure to do so may result in the athlete being scratched from the race. There will be no warnings.  Only ¼” or less pyramid spikes from the spike plate are permitted on the track surface. Neither pin nor tree spikes are not permitted (they cut the track). Spikes may be checked by any official. If an athlete is found with pin spikes, they will be removed from the competition and the event will not be held-up.  Electronic devices and headphones are not permitted in event areas or on either the flat or oval tracks. Please ask athletes to not have headphones on in event areas during the meet or shake-out.  The oval track will be closed when field events are in session.  The only athletes on the infield are those whose field event flights are current or open for warm-ups. 60m and 60m hurdle athletes may go to the infield once released from the check-in area.  Throwers may warm-up with heavy implements, but they must be check and held in the weighin area. No one will be permitted to keep any warm-up or completion implement prior to completion (both the men’s and women’s). All implements will be impounded until both gender’s events end.  Once an athlete is finished with their flight/heat, they are to leave the infield. o Horizontal jumpers and shot putters may not stay in the infield to watch later flights or to see if they have made finals. o Pole vaulters and high jumpers must leave the infield once they are out of the competition. Poles may be left in the infield to the end of the day. o Flat track racers must leave the infield once they retrieve their warm-ups.  The backstretch area is for coaches only. Athletes and spectators are not permitted in the backstretch.  Once races begin, either on the flat track or oval, the oval is close for any type of warm-up.  There is a warm-up area on the east side of the field house. Assembly Hall will be available each day for warm-ups and cool-downs once the meet beging.  There are no locker room facilities available for visiting track and field teams.
