lot of people are trying to get across Jordan to the Promised Land, but many of them will probably not make it. There is a way to get over Jordan. After Moses had led the children of Israel out of Egyptian bondage and they were on their way to the Promised Land, he spent time alone with the Lord in the Mount. He did this two times, forty days and nights each time, and fasting each time. I think Moses took his kindergarten course down in Egypt, with his mother as his teacher. He finished high school in the wilderness and got his college degree at the burning bush. But I believe he did his post-

t was a little over thirty years ago that we began sending natives from the Apache Reservation in Arizona to the Roloff Homes in Texas. We rejoiced to see the change that God was producing in their lives through the power of His Word.

I was thrilled when Brother Roloff extended the invitation for me to come down to the farm and see the ministry there first-hand. I was able to invest my summer between semesters at Bible college in working with some of Continued on page 4

graduate work in the Mount. He was alone with the Lord! It’s going to take a lot more than colleges and universities to raise up a new generation of what we need as preachers. Education without regeneration and sanctification is an abomination.

There is a way to get over Jordan.

Moses walked and talked with God and he had a man who studied under him and walked with him. His name was Joshua. In Joshua 1:7, we hear God say “. . . be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.” Now, here’s the secret of it. In verse 8 we read, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Do you know what he had? He had five books. That’s what Moses had gotten in the Mount. And yet we have all the books. We have the Old and New Testaments. But Joshua stood there as a young preacher who had just come into the tremendous role of leadership of millions of Israelites. They had wandered in the wilderness for forty years and they were on their way to the Promised Land. Now they had come up to the Jordan River.

In chapter 3, verse 1, we read, “And Joshua rose early in the morning . . .” (He was a preacher who got up early.) In verse 4 of that chapter, he said, “Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore. And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” “And the Lord said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.” Why did he do that? He took the only part of the Bible they had and shook it in the faces of the people and said, “We’re going by this Book!” God said, “Anytime you do, I will magnify you, too. You lift up my Word. I don’t care if it is just the Pentateuch – Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. But if you’ll lift up whatever portion of the Word you have, I’ll lift you up also.” No preacher can preach with authority who doesn’t believe and practice this Book. Now, we’ve got to get the children of Israel over Jordan. “And it shall come to pass, as

Moses walked and talked with God.

soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan . . .” Joshua 3:13. The preacher has to get his feet wet. We can’t be afraid of ruining our shoe shine. The people didn’t 2

have to go in the water, but the preachers did. The preachers had to take the first step of faith. God didn’t take them over in the low tide. It was harvest time and the flood was on.

“Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord.”

That’s another thing about God’s people. I believe He would have us go over when it’s most impractical to try. Do you know why? So that when we get over, we know it had to be the Lord! These little stinkin’ modernists guide the children of Israel around the Red Sea. I’d rather just cross and go on, because the Bible said so. When they were back at the Red Sea, Moses said to the people, “Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord.” “And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward.” How did the children of Israel get across the Red Sea? He spoke them over. That’s the Word of God! Now the priests have walked off in the water, resting their feet in the waters of Jordan. He said, “. . . the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap. And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people; And as they that bare Continued on page 3

I try to listen and learn from your radio ministry on KKGM 1630 AM every day that I can. I love the Bible and old-time true “common sense” teaching and preaching of Brother Roloff. This donation is to support the radio ministry on KKGM. Please keep up the good work! B. M. Kennedale, TX

Love and greetings in Jesus’ Name. Enclosed is my monthly gift. Maybe people who are alone and not doing good and don’t know Jesus will listen to the radio program. So use it for the radio ministry. M. W. Lincoln, NE Praying each day that Brother Roloff’s messages will continue over the air until Jesus comes. I am re-reading Lester Roloff—In Life and In Death and enjoying it just as much as I did when I first read it. There are so many great preachers, but Brother Roloff is one of the greatest. God bless all of you who are still involved in the great ministry. B. D. San Marcos, TX What a real blessing to hear Brother Lester proclaim the Word of God. I pray many will come to Christ for salvation and eternal life in these days. May the Lord bless each of you as you labor for souls. R. H. Winchester, VA Brother Roloff’s messages have been a blessing for many years. He used to come to Trinity Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida every January for a week and we never missed a night. His kind of preaching is so needed in this day and time. You can hardly find a preacher that preaches like he did. What a blessing that you kept his ministry going all these years. R. S. Just a note to say I love the Lord and am praying for you that the Lord will provide the means for you to continue on with the work Brother Roloff started. God is faithful and will help us through the bad times as well as the good times. May the Lord bless you and every work you do to get the Gospel to all people. E. L. Soddy Daisy, TN Enclosed is a love gift for sowing the seed of the Word of God. I praise the Lord for Brother Roloff’s good preaching and teaching with the holy boldness in this dark hour. May the good Lord have mercy on us all and lead us on. G. H. Bradyville, TN Well, I wanted to write you all and let you know that I have listened to your program for years and years, decades actually. It is a real blessing and refreshing and encouragement to hear Brother Roloff. Thanks for all the effort put out even though Brother Roloff is not here; his message and ministry still live on. God bless one and all. P. M. Pasco, WA When we moved to Grand Prairie, Texas in 1970, everyone in our church listened to Brother Roloff. They talked about him so much I thought he had been a visiting evangelist. Soon his radio ministry was blessing us as well. So here’s a little offering for old times’ sake. Brother Roloff was a man of God. D. J. Bogata, TX Y

the thirty-eight Apaches who had been court-ordered by tribal officials into the homes. Upon arriving with two more Apaches entering the program, Brother Roloff invited us into his home and shared his burden and his belief in God’s love for the native people. I asked Brother Roloff where on the farm he wanted me to work, expecting he had a job assignment in mind. Instead he replied, “Go find a place of need, and start ministering.” That admonition allowed me to minister in a variety of areas that summer which provided invaluable experience and also laid the foundation for some very cherished friendships. Brother Roloff’s simple statement continues to challenge me as a missionary today.

“Indian reservations are places of great need” Brother Roloff was burdened that Indian reservations are places of great need when he began Regeneration Reservation. This ministry remains dedicated to the vision upon which it was founded. . . the cause of native souls. Amidst a people group six times as likely to die from alcohol and ten times as likely to die from suicide, Regeneration Reservation serves as a launching point to minister in places of great need. We have been privileged to share our hope in Christ with the

inmates in tribal jails, with the court-ordered residents in alcohol/methamphetamine treatment centers, with the tribal communities through radio broadcast, and with those grieving at many wakes and funerals. We have the joy of accepting invitations into Native homes that allow a personal time of relationship building, which is very important in overcoming cultural misconceptions that threaten the acceptance of the Gospel. The strategy of our labors through each evangelistic and discipleship ministry is to ultimately establish Native believers for the calling of indigenous church leadership. The result is that native men are taking leadership, mentoring fellow believers, and preaching effectively in their heart language.

Christ is the Answer!

Our missionary team is committed to partner with our native brothers and sisters living in their reservation communities. We want to help them effectively reach their people with the critical message that Christ is the Answer! This collaboration has made it possible for native people to reach their people locally and also tribes in “the regions beyond” through the witness of their testimonies of salvation. Evangelistic DVD’s and the Today’s Native website are being developed to encourage and disciple native believers. Continued on page 6

in turmoil, and a congress that seems worlds apart from agreeing on anything. They are juggling for position, preparing for the next election. All these things seem to influence Christians as to their financial support to ministries. Not only are world government bodies fighting, but the very nature of weather, earthquakes, etc., is playing a part in dividing our attention. Every natural disaster seems to call for charitable support and millions are being raised for this worthy purpose. However, in the meantime

hen we open our Bible to Genesis, chapter one, God begins by saying, “In the beginning God. . .” As we begin a New Year, it seems logical that we begin the year with God. That format that He presented is a good one to follow. January is a good time to set patterns and priorities for the whole year. That will help us focus and sidestep any problems that arise. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to awaken and find our New Year absent from bad news? That seems impossible as we look at

the daily news. We see Mideast conflicts all over the area that are drawing the world into the conflict. As we read God’s Word, we should not be surprised by these happenings. The bad news does not end there. Looking at our nation, we see an administration

ministries are suffering and many church doors have closed, and a number of preaching voices have been silenced. Brother Roloff began this ministry by using the slogan, “Christ Is the Answer” and we have never deviated from that practice. Sometimes there seems to be no answer or a solution to these many problems, but if the world would look to Jesus Christ for the answer, we would find the sailing much smoother. While many voices have been silenced, it is so important that this ministry and message continue at this crucial time. I trust you will make it a continual purpose in your daily life to pray for the Roloff Ministries and make each month one with your financial support. May God bless each one of you as we launch out into the year 2014! Y 5

bearing the Word of God. No flood can stop a man that will stay with the Word of God. They were marching! They didn’t have some denominational program in their hands. They didn’t have some little church bulletins with the Order of Service printed in them. They had the Word of God, and that’s what we need now. “That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city of Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.” Now, verse 17 says, “And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.” Dear Friend, here’s your combination. The Bible said that the

today. We’re living in the midst of compromise and we’re trying to explain away this and that, but he said the Lord let them stand firm on dry ground. They had to first be willing to wade into the water, and then God dried up the water around their feet, and they stood firm on dry ground. As they stood firm, the Israelites followed and “passed clean over.” Y 6

Scripture in the heart language of the native people is being recorded onto CD and distributed as well. The commitment to go to needy places has taken the witness of native believers to nineteen native communities on nine reservations so far this year. The government has tried and failed to make a difference in many places of great need. God has called His people to this task. The native people, our missionary team, and friends like you make up an essential team. Some minister alongside us in the native harvest; others labor from afar through fervent prayer and sacrificial support. As long as there remains a place of spiritual need, there remains a cause worthy of our lives’ investment. Thank you for partnering with us at Regeneration Reservation and the Roloff Evangelistic Enterprises in serving our Lord in needy places. Scott Murphy Regeneration Reservation Fort Thomas, AZ Y
