Alumni Update Kappa Kappa Gamma Arkansas Gamma Nu - Monthly Alumni Newsletter

Gamma Nu s Alums Hello Gamma Nu Alumni! My name is Beth Anne Harrison and I am the Public Relations Chairman for the Gamma Nu Chapter during the 2015 year. One of our goals this year is to reach out and connect with our alumni in a greater capacity. So, we have decided to create a monthly newsletter to go out to our alumni organizations in order to keep you in touch with what’s happening here in Fayetteville! In this newsletter, we will primarily cover major events going on at the Kappa House. We will include functions, competitions, philanthropy events, upcoming news, and of course, plenty of pictures of our actives. Finally, this newsletter will only be sent electronically, if you wish to have it sent to an additional email please contact me directly at [email protected].

Kappa “Kissmas" Semi Formal On Thursday December 11 active Kappas held our annual semiformal date function. Keeping in the Christmas Spirit, the function was entitled “Kappa Kissmas”. Girls wore their holiday dresses and asked dates to accompany them to the venue at

George’s Majestic Lounge on Dickson Street. Couples were invited to dance, mingle, and even capture the night in a photo booth set up for the event. Actives of all ages enjoyed the night’s festivities as a last hoorah before leaving Fayetteville to head home for the holiday break.

Kappa Gets First in Grades, Scholarship Banquet January 15, 2015

Before the holiday break, Gamma Nu hosted a scholarship banquet for professors and actives to mingle over dinner and a ceremony of academic accomplishments. Members were requested to invite a professor they felt especially helped them this semester to accompany them to dinner at the Kappa House and to a special Chapter where a guest professor gave a motivational speech, members receiving 4.0s were announced, and Peal Drop recipients were awarded. After lots of recognitions and applause, the professors were thanked for their attendance and the night ended. Following the end of the fall semester, over the holiday break Gamma Nu was notified that for the 3rd semester in a row our sorority had earned the hight grade point average on campus. We are proud of our intelligent and hardworking members, but humble in our celebrations.
