Joanna Zapior, CFA Managing Director and Global Head of Macro Strategy CIBC Capital Markets +1 416 594-8498 • [email protected] In her role as Global Head of Macro Strategy, Joanna is responsible for the bank’s cross-asset investment strategy and leads a team of 12 strategists based across major financial markets in New York, London, Hong Kong, and Toronto. As part of her responsibilities, she formulates the group’s credit strategy and manages CIBC’s Target Cash Flow Portfolios. Prior to creating the Macro Strategy team, Joanna had established CIBC’s corporate debt research team, which was ranked #1 in Canada for eight consecutive years. Institutional investors ranked Joanna as the #1 corporate debt analyst in Canada during those years. She also led CIBC’s Fixed Income Research Team. Joanna had joined CIBC in 1992. Prior to establishing her career as a research professional, she worked on several trading desks, including asset securitization, commercial paper, and debt advisory, and led the Canadian bond sales team. For several years Joanna was a member of the Fixed Income Committee of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts. Currently she participates in the mentorship program of Women in Capital Markets and serves on its Women in Leadership advisory committee. Joanna is a member of CIBC’s Pension Investment Committee and was part of CIBC Capital Markets Trading Operating Committee 2010–15.
