ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION The Partnership for Los Angeles Schools is a non-profit organization that manages a portfolio of some of LA’s most underserved public schools and focuses on piloting innovations that can be scaled across the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and state of California. Launched in 2008 by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, the Partnership is a collaboration of LAUSD, the City of Los Angeles and the philanthropic sector. Today it serves approximately 14,000 students across 16 campuses in Watts, Boyle Heights and South LA. The Partnership is one of the largest public school turnaround initiatives in the nation. Over its first five years, the Partnership was the # 1 improving mid-to-large-size school district in the state according to the Academic Performance Index (API). POSITION DESCRIPTION The Restorative Communities Manager is responsible for coaching and supporting school staff to effectively implement a continuum of restorative practices and systems at Partnership schools.

RESPONSIBILITIES The Restorative Communities Manager’s key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:  Building positive relationships with school staff, administrators, home office staff, students, community partners, and families  Building the capacity of school staff to develop, strengthen, and repair relationships with all stakeholders in a school community both at the individual and systemic level  Planning, facilitating/co-facilitating, and documenting restorative practices with students and staff, serving as a model for school-site staff members and developing the systemic growth of restorative practices at school sites  Training and coaching groups and individuals to facilitate all tiers of restorative practices, including but not limited to affective statements, active listening, nonviolent communication, social-emotional learning, restorative dialogue, and circles (including community building, harm/conflict, re-entry, curriculum, issue/support, etc.)  Planning, implementing, and documenting individual and small-group coaching cycles with school staff, including modeling, observation, and feedback (using rubrics and protocols)  Communicating and reporting to direct supervisor, the Director of School Culture and Restorative Communities

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will have:  Experience facilitating restorative practices and social-emotional learning  Experience in cultivating school culture and student discipline supports  Experience in coaching adults and leading them to achieve SMART goals  Strong facilitation and active listening skills  Strong personal commitment to social justice and healing work  Strong organizational and interpersonal skills  Experience facilitating professional development  3 years of teaching experience or equivalent  5 years of working in an educational or community organization setting  Master of Arts in Education or equivalent  California teaching, counseling or administrative credential (secondary preferred)  Familiarity with the LAUSD Teaching & Learning Framework (or similar framework for teacher growth and development)  Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook  Spanish fluency is preferred
