Assistant Management Accountant - VICELAND Financial Controller - VICELAND
Overview: VICE is the world’s preeminent youth media company and content creation studio. Launched in 1994, VICE now operates in over 30 countries and distributes its programming to hundreds of millions of viewers across digital, linear, mobile, film and socials. VICE includes an international network of digital channels, a television and feature film production studio, a magazine, a record label, an in-house creative services agency, a book-publishing division and a new 24-hour TV channel, VICELAND, launched in in the UK and Ireland in September 2016. Roles and Responsibilities: This role will be dedicated to financial reporting and planning for VICELAND International. VICELAND International has already launched in UK, France, New Zealand and Australia with a number of further launches planned for 2017. Key responsibilities to include:
Assist VICELAND FC with producing the monthly management accounts for Viceland International markets including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations etc. Assist VICELAND FC with Quarterly forecast/budgets for VICELAND International markets covering key cost areas e.g. marketing, operations, programming, including variance analysis to Budget/prior forecast. Responsible for calculating recharges from the International Hub to other VICELAND markets as well as reconciling intercompany balances. Work with Programming teams to ensure any updates to the schedule are reflected in Programming amortisation model and financial impact analysed. Work with Operations team to maintain up to date Dubbing /Subtitling schedule and advise on cost efficiencies. Point of contact for Accounts Payable to ensure invoices are being coded correctly. Liaise with Billings Clerk to ensure Affiliate and Advertising revenue is billed and collected in a timely manner. Liaise with Production Accountants to track delivery of local productions and arrange for invoicing of these.
Qualifications:
Part qualified/finalist/newly qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with experience in management accounting and financial analysis.
Passion for working in the Entertainment/TV/Media Industry. Proven experience of working to tight deadlines; working effectively under pressure. The ability to business partner and communicate with finance & non-finance stakeholders effectively and articulately for all International regions. A team player with a proactive and enthusiastic approach who takes initiative where needed. Previous experience of SAP would be useful but not essential. Advanced Excel skills.
