HEAD SQUASH PRO The Arbutus Club, one of Canada’s finest Private Family Clubs, is seeking a highly-motivated HEAD SQUASH PRO to start Fall 2017. The Arbutus Club has been a landmark in Vancouver since 1964, and is now a modern recreation complex, with first-class food and beverage services. The Head Squash Pro will have access to five (5) International Singles Squash Courts and Lobby for social gatherings and events. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement junior and adult programming in alignment with Squash BC’s Junior Squash Pathway model (or similar) and Canadian Sport for Life’s Long-Term Athlete Development model Develop and organize a variety of Squash leagues and ladders Plan and implement in-house tournaments, events and social gatherings with the assistance of Recreation Services Staff and the Squash Committee Provide group lessons and private/semi-private lessons for juniors and adults from beginner to advanced levels Promote the sport of Squash within the Club by contributing to Club publications Create and maintain an e-mail database to communicate upcoming opportunities to Squash players and build a strong Squash community. QUALIFICATIONS: A high level of Member service is essential Canadian NCCP Certified Intermediate Instructor or Certified Club Coach Minimum 3-5 years’ experience developing and overseeing Junior and Adult Squash Programs, including experience establishing and developing new programs Competitive playing experience required Experience organizing in-house tournaments and events of all sizes Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient computer, organizational and time management skills Applicants must be prepared to develop and submit a Business Proposal outlining how they envision running and operating a successful Squash Program at The Arbutus Club. Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
