Performances included skits written and performed by YABC Students illustrating elements of their lives that they are thankful. After the riveting performance, students were treated to a sample of Latin Dance choreographed by Ms. McFarlane and performed by students in her Dance Class.

YOUNG ADULT BOUROUGH CENTER/LEARNING TO WORK
YABC students at John Adams celebrated Thanksgiving as a school community on Wednesday November 23rd. While the day included regularly scheduled classes, students gathered at the end of the day in the cafeteria for a performance sponsored by Ms. McFarlane’s drama and dance classes.

Daffodil and Tulip Project This year, Mr. Beauchine’s Plant Science Class is participating in the Daffodil and Tulip Project. The class is participating in this project through the ilearn Collaboration Center. Students throughout the world plant bulbs and collect information regarding the growth of the bulbs. The project begins in November and is ongoing until the flowers bloom in May. On November 21, the students of the class accompanied by Mr. Beauchine and Greg planted the bulbs in a flower bed around a tree in front of the school building. The bulbs were planted in a flower bed around a tree. The flowers should be blooming by early spring and throughout the winter the class will be recording information and documenting the progress of the flowers.
UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH KIN Kin Fung Leung is an integral staff member in the YABC Program at John Adams. He is responsible for maintaining the technology and software that our students need in order to complete their assignments.

Kin graduated from New York City of Technology with a Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Engineering Technology.
In his spare time Kin enjoys many outdoor activities including basketball, hiking, and skiing. He also enjoys traveling and seeing new areas of the world.
Kin began working for the Department of Education in 1999 as a computer technician. Initially he was a part time technician with the role of supporting the Board members. Over the years he has worked in many different offices including District 75, Division of Information
Although Kin is not teaching any classes in the YABC Program, he hopes to be able to contribute to the students’ academic success. His goal is to provide the technology support that they need to help them move towards success in their lives.
