Joining Northwich ASC
Joining Northwich ASC Northwich ASC are a swimming club catering for swimmers at stage 6 and above in the National Teaching Plan for Swimming. We run stage 6 and 7 lessons (30 minutes per week) using qualified swimming teachers and assistants. These lessons follow the National Teaching Plan for Swimming and you have the added assurance of being a member of the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) and in a club that has gained the ASA quality mark called SWIM21 Beyond stages 6 and 7 the club is structured into squads. The first of these squads (Bronze) roughly equates to stages 8, 9 and 10 of the national teaching plan, collectively known as pre-competition. In these squads swimmers are able to continue to develop their stroke technique and get an introduction to competitive swimming in a low key environment. We recognise that competitive swimming is not to everyone’s taste and do not place pressure on swimmers to compete. The Bronze squad train 2 times a week for a total of 1 ¾ hours. Beyond Bronze squad we have the Silver, Gold and Lifesaving squads. Swimmers can move through the squad system as appropriate to their interests and ambitions. As a club we aim to develop each swimmer to be the best that they can be. This includes county, regional and national finalists in both swimming and lifesaving but we also cater for swimmers who simply enjoy the social side of the club and the health and safety benefits that arise from being a competent swimmer. Northwich ASC are able to provide swimming in a safe and supervised environment as evidenced by our SWIM21 accreditation and develop competitive swimmers with a view to their long term success not short term glory. Next Steps Included with this letter is an application form which needs to be completed and returned as soon as possible. The membership form will allow us to register your child with the ASA and also on our online membership system, please ensure you provide a valid email address to facilitate this. Once set up on our online membership system you will receive an email inviting you to complete the registration process by creating a username and password. This username and password will allow you to access the members section of our website and enable you to set up a direct debit for payment of club fees.
