Message from the President Summer is in full swing and we are halfway through 2017. Conversations continue with the Chapters in Dallas, Austin and Houston on RIMS 2018 in San Antonio and the possibility of a Texas Educational Conference in the future. The Texas Chapters will be holding a social for all the Chapter members and sponsors. More details to follow. Discussions with the National RIMS Society continue regarding RIMS 2018. Ron Walton, NuStar Energy VP of Risk Management, has graciously volunteered to join the RIMS Annual Conference Programming Committee 2018. This group will be reviewing all of the educational courses submitted and making final selections of the courses that will make the program at the conference in San Antonio. Stephanie Malish and I met with CEO of the Society, Mary Roth and VP of Events & Education, Stuart Roth-Lyons regarding the upcoming convention in San Antonio. We also discussed the state of the chapter and how the Society can help us meet the needs of our members. Stay tuned to more updates on RIMS 2018. Chapter Business

New Website coming
A website is supposed to provide the most current information about events in the Chapter. It should inform, update and guide the user. Unfortunately, our website has not been user friendly and requires a class just to manage and navigate. South Texas RIMS has secured a web designer to create a more user friendly site and one that will help manage meetings and events all from one site. It is nearly complete and operational. We will let you know more once the site is up and look forward to your suggestions.
