The plan for this new community in Dubai will house 140,000 residents in high-rise towers, low-rise apartments, town homes and villas. The development will also include commercial centers, retail development, neighborhood centers, multi-modal transit, and a traditional souk all designed using “new urbanist” planning principles - the first such project in Dubai. The open space system has been designed to create a walkable network of trails, promenades, canals, lakes, and sporting facilities. An emphasis has been placed on using native vegetation to reforest the site and create a theme.
